He probaly does... but even if Kiffin took him..

It would take alot for him to gain respect from fans again..

I don't think so. How many fans even keep up with recruiting well enough to know who he is? He didn't do anything or say anything horrible, he just decommitted. Anyway, I wasn't too high on him before but I'd welcome any QB that Kiffin would get at this point. Anyone know if Kiffin's even contacted him?

I doubt that Kiffin has contacted him. Everything I have read says that Kiffin wants everyone ready to compete for their spot and their playing time. Nunes past behavior (getting disturbed by booing enough to decommit) really makes me think he's not a fit for Kiffin's style of coaching. Not all players are a "bad fit" for a system because of their physical skills. I think Nunes is a "bad fit" for UT now because of a lack of competitive spirit.

I think Kiffin wants players with the physical talent of a 4-5* and the drive of a 2* that wants to prove all the ratings wrong.

He did not decommit because of boos. It was because of distance.

He did not decommit because of boos. It was because of distance.

He was just being diplomatic citing distance, I don't know how much the boos upset him but the word was that his family was very upset and didn't want him to come to UT.

Remember he committed to Clawson without ever being on campus and that was his first impression of Vol Nation, not one of our proudest moments.

I would agree, but I think he finally realized he rushed into a decision and also realized that Clawson would probably not be returning.

I doubt Nunes would have thought Clawson would be out that early in the season.

Who knows?? I have no idea if Kiffin is still recruiting him or even if he wants him. I have no idea how Kiffin is evaluating the QBs we have on our roster now.

Also, he committed to us without stepping foot on campus. It was distance and the fact that Stanford was his first love.

I don't buy that distance was the main problem.

I can buy the Stanford as a First Choice/Coach Harbaugh/Academics (doesn't he have over a 4.0 GPA?) part of what he said when he changed from UT to Stanford.

I do remember that right after his visit many on here made a big deal about the reaction he and his dad had to the boos and the general way that Florida game weekend went. From what I read, I just wasn't impressed with his will to compete.

Of course maybe he was just a naive kid sold a dream offense that never materialized on the field. Honestly, after watching that Florida game, I might have run from UT's offense and it's coordinator too.

Screw him. I dont want the kid. He can't handle it here anyways. The boo birds scared him. We need a QB with a little thicker skin. It pissed me off when he decommitted. Go to Stanford where you can here what the guy on the last row talkin on his phone.

If the kid want to come let him come. I dont like that he decommited, but we need a QB bad and im willing to forgive him ONLY if he wants to recommit.

you say that but honestly what percentage of fans do you think keep up w/ recruiting and have any idea about the players before they get on to campus?? i'd say probably about 5-8%

Why is this thread still being used? He left, there is no reason to believe he will return, and that is it. Can we please let this die unless there is a legit reason to talk about it. He is a solid Stanford commit, done.
