Any chance Tayven Jackson beats out Milton next spring?

That was also in relief that the stats aren’t telling you. He got to come in games and beat on teams that was beaten down. That’s a whole lot of less pressure on a Qb. Than knowing you have all the pressure on you in every single drive in a game.!
Those stats are completion percentages. Regardless of who he’s playing against, your complaint is invalid because he has to connect with a receiver to get a completion

It’s fun watching all the folks on here that are quarterback gurus. I think I will defer to Heupel and Staff. I just have a feeling they know what they are doing at QB position. No matter what some folks think I think our staff is capable of finding our best suitor for the job. GBO!

I understand that but quick question..... Did u see 10-11 wins coming this year??

The difference in 10/11 wins this season is that Hooker was even better than we all expected, and I believe we all anticipated him being one of the best in the conference based on what we saw last season.

I can't speak for everyone, but I don't believe we're any better than 7-5 with Milton running the show this season. I'd actually put that win total as our ceiling for next year if Milton is the QB.

It's possible that he'll give us the best chance to win next season and we'll have to go back to being just an above average for year. However, I don't think we should just assume he'll be better than Jackson or Nico.

Amazing arm, but I agree. If you can’t hit wide open receivers at the D1 level at least 75-80% of the time then you just can’t play at this level.
Absolutely! Just like any sport, if you can’t throw strikes you can’t pitch, if you can’t make 3s, you can’t be a shooting guard.

Complaint?? I’m stating exactly what I’ve watched and know from his playing time. Anybody who knows the sport will tell you the same. Jordan Rogers said it several times last night and they had multiple discussions about it. They have after every time he’s been the Qb1. I don’t think the Milton lovers are seeing the same thing that the rest of us do. You must be one of those on here that thinks he’s a world beater. If he’s our Qb. next year and wins the start of the season. Be prepared to go thru what was 2021…Just like when he started out and Hendon took over in 2021. Be prepared for the let downs and a couple losses later. Then you’ll have discussions about well if the coach would’ve this and that bs. If your running your receivers to death and can’t reward them. They will tire out because one…your not scoring or moving the ball efficiently. Where you can regroup between first downs and running the ball. Where they catch a breather and run a few deep routes again. If you don’t and they tire out they will get frustrated and quit on you. I’ve watch there demeanor after these plays and there walking off frustrated and that would be for anybody.! This offense is built for fast and furious. When they don’t connect on the long ball out of the park. Then they have to comeback and try to regroup. These are tired players or player that are trying to reset. One simple question…..Have you watch CJH get frustrated on the side lines when they can’t go fast. When they have to substitute and the defense is allowed too.

Watching Josh Pate right now and he said Texas was waiting on Arch Manning to be there and play next year. Are you saying that Nico will not play? He is getting a lot of NIL money to come here and him RS is not an option. I have no problem saying right now that he wins the starting job.
Texas doesn’t play in the SEC and Arch is much more polished than Nico. Nico has a much higher ceiling, but isn’t as college ready right now

I posted this in the game thread, but that's probably not the right spot for this question. Milton doesn't look any better than last year in this Candy game,. I don't see us doing very well against decent or better teams next year without improvement from Milton or a different QB1. It just doesn't seem like Milton is going to change. Love the talent and the personality, but I just don't think he's a QB in actual game situations.

Any chance Traven Jackson can win out the QB1 spot next spring and give Nico a year or two to get some size on him. Jackson was a 4 star recruit, correct? Is he good enough to compete with Milton in the spring? Will Heupel give him a fair opportunity?

Everything I've heard they expect Milton to be the guy. He will get every chance and staff will be working overtime with him to make it happen. They love experience over inexperience.

I didn't ask for the difference between the two QB's, I asked did u see 10-11 wins before the season started. We knew Hooker was gonna ball. He balled last year and we were still a 7 win team. Just about everyone on the forum had us winning 7-9 games max, knowing Hooker would probably be a top 5 QB this sesson. The TEAM got better not just Hooker.

Hooker looked bad against UGA and not because of the rain. Milton looking like the UGA version of Hooker is not a compliment.
Do u play QB or have u ever played QB in bad weather??? If not, how would u know what effect the weather had on either guy?? Even UGA stopped throwing the ball once the weather got worse. Kirby said out his mouth that the weather changed their game plan. We literally saw multiple overthrows vs UGA even when there wasn't pressure, so it wasn't all UGA's defense. I didn't compliment anybody, I pointed out that they both looked the same in similar weather. Only difference was UGA ain't letting u run for 300 yards.

Years ago there were serious debates among all the armchair QB fans about who was better: Peyton Manning or Branndon Stewart. I'm talking SERIOUS debates here. It appeared to be a close race, and when Peyton won the job, a lot furious fans claimed it was because of Peyton's last name and to sell tickets. I heard so many conspiracy theories. I'm so glad the coach/staff won out on that one. Left up to fans who knows what would have happened lol.

Was it the right decision? Well, one ended up winning an SEC championship and a couple of Super Bowls. The other runs a software company.

big joe has all the tools except touch.not so sure that can be taught.for our offense to succeed at maximum level those deep shots need to hit around 65 percent of the time.

Getting back to the original question... Yes, there's a chance Jackson could beat out Milton. There's also a chance Nico could beat out Milton.

Jackson came in very raw. It'll be interesting to see how he's developed after being with Heupel for 2 years. Nico is thin as a rail but will be here for spring practice... How much weight will he gain between now and August 2022? How much of the playbook can he grasp?

It wouldn't surprise me if any of the 3 win the starting job. Also wouldn't surprise me if we utilize multiple QBs

CJH may look into the transfer portal for another qb. Can’t hurt and might push Milton to work harder.

I was on Volchat back then. I remember them days well and was part of them discussions.😆 I was Wildorange over there. GBO

Fant literally almost stopped before he turned his head and saw the ball. That was COMPLETELY on Fant. He stopped running.

Milton has missed about 3 deep passes tonight. But the offense hasn't missed a beat. The ONLY issue I have seen is that he's missed 2-3 opportunities to take off with the ball that would have resulted in at least a 5-6 yard gain, if not more.
Ohhhh boy.
