Cal scored 3 non-offensive TDs, while adding a 4th in the 4th quarter after an ASU INT that put you in their red zone. It's okay, I know you can't possibly see that Cal was outperformed.
Tennessee was outperformed by Air Force and South Carolina.
The only problem I had was most of the Cal fans who made the trip warned us not to expect the same hospitality when making the visit there. Not that I'm surprised because of the cultural differences.
explain why defensive and special teams TDs are somehow worth less than offensive tds? You realize that by scoring 3 non offensive tds that means the offense had 3 less drives right? The offense scored TDs on 4 out of 6 of their first half drives btw.
They aren't worth less, but they are more "wild-card" or "luck" plays than anything. I'm not discussing this with you any further, unless you truly wanted to get to the deeper debate about the theory of performance vs. achievement. It will be better for both of our mornings.
Considering DJ had 3 other punt returns for td last season I don't consider that luck. And we destroyed Carpenter in that game, I don't consider the ints luck either. And take away those scores and we still outscored them 28-7 in the first half.
YAAAAAAAAAAAAARDS! Have you noticed how I've mentioned the score 0 times? This is why I won't discuss it further with you - you don't even understand what I'm saying.
I understand what you are saying, it just doesn't make sense. You're penalizing teams for good special teams and good defense (thus making the field shorter and yes they have fewer yards). It's a team game for christ sake. Why are offensive yards the only statistic that matters to you?
I like you. Even though you are a Cal fan , you are still down for an intellegent football conversation. Calbears is just ...he's just crazy.
