I imagine that would result in a lot of mascots dying. It's in the nineties for a lot of UT games and that dang Smokey outfit is probably made of housing insulation. Adding alcohol dehydration into that, and things would get ugly. Also, where would the vomit go?

Much to do about Nothing. What if an Earthquake wipes CA out before the game occurs or during the GAME. That the only way CaL Wins.

Yes, it may be worthless, no I do not watch Soap Operas.

I wouldn't go that far as to say that is the only way Cal wins. I do think UT wins, but Im not gonna say that there is 0% chance that Cal can win.

The soap opera refers to the letter of apology and departure letter by CAL BEARS

CAL can win this game yes but I do not want them to think they have a chance in H@@@. It was an over confident post that has no factual basis. Do I think the Vols will win yes in a runaway no but it is possible. Too many intanigibles for anyone to assume 100% varibles.

Best example. 86 season. We were the best team in the nation with a Second String QB Daryl Dickey although our record did not show it and we finished 4th in the polls.

The "Cal has no chance posts" only reinforces my opinion that the vols will come in cocky and overconfident. So it has the opposite effect that you were hoping for. I realize messageboard posters are not the team, but in my experience the fans feelings on a game many times mirrors the teams.

I might agree with you if it wasn't the first game of the season. UT will come out ready to make a statement about the 2007 season.

Ummm, yeah, last time I checked, the posts on these boards aren't coming from the players so I wouldn't put much stock into it like you said.

And in my experience, it doesn't matter. I've seen fans come in very confident and be right and wrong. Same with fans that weren't confident.

Yeah maybe, hard to say. First games are very hard to predict. . . as Cal fans found out last year.

Obviously it isn't a 100% rule. True champion veteran teams get up for every game no matter how bad the opponent. Unfortunetly those type of teams are rather rare.

Not at all. Were more embarrased by it than anything. The fans and the team want payback bigtime though. Tedford has repeatably said it was the worst loss of his career by far and he will work his butt off so it never happens again. Having to hear about that game from every fanbase we played in 2007 has made next years game very very important for Cal fans.

I'm not saying that UT gets up for every game, but you will be very hardpressed to point out when they didn't get up for the first game of the year.

Truth is we played awsome and Cal looked awfull, not cause they are but they dropped most passes and just looked lazy.
