Any word on Fulkerson coming back

Like I’ve already stated, I see him a lot like Dane Bradshaw, a guy that was beloved by people in East Tennessee and who chose to start their “professional life” rather than “play basketball professionally”. Dane had jobs lined up around the Knoxville area waiting for him making really good money, Fulkerson will have the same. You seem to be comparing him to an average Joe just getting out of UT, that’s not the case, he will likely make more money staying around Knoxville than heading over to Kazakhstan to play basketball.
There is also Covid to consider for all these seniors around the country. The international basketball money may not be what it usually is.

I worry about Fulkerson's wrist, but I am also wondering if COVID hasn't simply drained his energy. Something's wrong. But, if the past is the best predictor of the future, I'm betting he'll recover. I just hope it is soon while he's still wearing orange and white.

I hope fulkerson comes back. I think between covid, wisdom teeth surgery, and wrist injury he’s not himself. I also won’t rule out that he’s simply burnt out and out of mojo at the moment, it happens.

So we missed on Paolo Banchero (3rd overall, Duke secured the bag), and then we missed on Jabari Smith (5th overall, Auburn secured the bag), and if Fulkerson leaves then we’re left with Uros, Nkamhoua, and Anosike. I have high hopes for Nkamhoua, but we have to admit that’s a pretty bleak situation. Hopefully can hit the transfer market. Smith or Banchero paired with Chandler would have been amazing

Anosike expected back, Fulky is probably 70/30 coming back, I think best case is 1 of Springer/Johnson return but good chance both are gone. Maybe a hot take but with Chandler and Mashack coming in I would take Fulky returning over Johnson or Springer returning for next years team.
I think Anosike will come back but not play very much. He is too short to rebound in the SEC and his offense has not been very good. We don’t seem to improve in any of the statistical components of the game when he is on the floor.

Are you sure bouncing around overseas making a decent living is what he wants to do?

It will be really interesting to see how Rick rebuilds this roster next year if Pons, Fulkerson, Johnson, and Springer all leave. I wouldn't be surprised if there is an additional transfer for playing time reasons, as that seems to happen at least once a year for every team now.

It would be very unfortunate if next year with our 1-year of Kennedy Chandler we had to take a step back and "rebuild" yet again. I'm hoping we can hold onto at least Springer.

Chandler, Bailey, JJJ, Walker, ORN/EJ

Backcourt is very solid. Especially w SV and Mashack off the bench. Front court we’d have to land on another transfer. What are the odds right now of a BHH reclass?

I'm not confident that Walker ever sees the court here, similar to D.J. Burns. I think E.J. will soak up fouls, but he doesn't seem like an SEC caliber player.

BHH reclassify is still a good possibility, but I'm not confident enough to place money on it.

EJ needs to move on. He doesn’t count against the total, so if he’s working on a degree so be it, but he isn’t SEC material.

Barnes list of post wash outs is alarming, and he has pretty much blanked on the last 5-6 posts that were name players.

I think Fulkerson would be a solid 6th or 7th man coming off the bench next season if he decides to come back.

Nkamhoua would be a good 4 or 5 to start next season.

Neither one of them are near ready if we are being honest. But both would be drafted fairly high because of their ceiling. So it comes down to them deciding what they feel is best. Trying to guess on what young men will do in that situation is never easy.
I would not blame them for leaving and taking the money. Neither will play much nor will either stay in the NBA long. They just aren't that good.

This is just a ridiculous statement. I'm sure many on this board are disappointed with how this season turned out, myself included; however, Keon and Jaden are perhaps the best two players on this roster at the moment. And it's not particularly close. Inconsistent? Yes. But, so is this entire team.

Now, I agree with @therickbol that neither of them are ready for the NBA at the moment, and both could use an additional year in college. The only issue is the NBA almost drafts entirely on your potential now and not the on the court performance. Keon's draft stock hasn't changed much this season, and as badly as I want him back he is gone. There is a slim chance (IMO 0%) he returns as who turns down Top 10 money? He won't be a Top 3 pick so his earning potential can't change much.

Springer? He has a better chance of returning. He is in the 20 - 40 range, so if he falls out of the first round he might return. But, I have seen some posters on here claim that Springer came to TN under the illusion he would be a one and done no matter what, so if that is the case chances seem low there as well.

Neither Keon Johnson or Jaden Springer are very good?!?! Lmao......ohhhhhhhk.
Theyy are good players. Just not good by NBA standards. Keon cant shoot a three or handle the ball well. Springer is a good player, but is small by NBA standards. Those two guys will get eaten alive in the NBA. Both will never make it off the bench. Heck they are not dominating the SEC. Neither is close to being as good as Bone, Schofield or Grant Williams. They will probably end up in the d league next year.

I am going to be respectful and give you the benefit of the doubt that this is lack of understanding instead of a troll attempt. Not good by NBA standards tells me you don't know what you are looking at or looking for. Keon is literally how to create an NBA player if you made one on that computer they used in Weird Science to create that ideal woman. His shortcomings are things that they are able to fix once he is in the NBA. Nothing is ever a certainty but it would be a big surprise if Keon does not have a long career as a contributor. The only real question is will that be a long career as a role player (similar to a Cory Brewer) or a long career as a star. The idea that he will never make it off the bench is beyond crazy. Springer does have a little more uncertainty because he is a little bit of a niche player right now that needs to expand his game.
