Anyone heard about this with Nico and parents

I mentioned in a thread posted after the OSU beat down something had to happen in the locker room. The team didn't look the same as the season even though they had 3 weeks to get ready. Our OL looked like cardboard cutouts. So bad, it actually looked like they were allowing the OSU DL to come right through.

After reading this story, it all makes sense what showed on the field against OSU. I'm sure this was going around the locker room the three weeks leading up to the game.
Wait, you're accusing the oline of throwing the game?

Is Will West usually one breaking this kind of info? Not sure i remember him being an insider

True or not, he's not helping UT football with this mess. So glad our local media is on our side
Doesn't really matter what Will reports. The players on the team and potential recruits are fully aware of what's happening. Their decisions won't hinge on what a broadcaster or some poster on a message board puts out. They know the score.

They’ve made it easier to get higher grades in K-12. I suppose it’s possible in college too.
That's the damn truth! My kid's school absolutely kills me! There are no deadlines! They can turn in their work, practically at any time with no penalty! And no grades are final. Every assignment is correctable. And unless they are correcting a previous assignment, they never have homework! And they both get A's and B's on their report cards.

Yeah it’s kind of a joke. But I guess more parents get to say their kids are honor roll students, so nobody wants to make a fuss about it.

The guy beneath you did a good job. They just don’t penalize kids much for not doing their work or doing it wrong. I have no idea if college is any easier because Idk any college students, and I’m not close with people with kids of college age yet.
So how do you know students aren't doing their work? Because someone else on the Internet said so? You're freaking clueless. You need to drink a 24 oz glass. Then another and another🤣🤭

$8 million to me means he is no longer a 'kid' and no longer 'playing'. He is a highly compensated professional. JMHO

I truly hope he is a good guy that is caught in the middle of a bunch of greedy people.
I somewhat agree that money does open them up to a little more criticism but damn I mean they’re still kids. Idk if you have kids but if someone gave an 18-22 yo millions they don’t suddenly grow up and get smart. For the most part Nico does represent the program in a really good light, just needs to get better like every other young QB.

Nobody is forcing you to pay them. This is what a pure free market looks like. If yall don't like it then say you got a problem with capitalism.

Nico's family did nothing wrong. Everyone of us would do the same if we had leverage. Blame the people who are caving into the demands of the athletes rather than the athletes themselves. They're doing nothing wrong by trying to get as much money as they can.
The problem is there was no leverage. UT is a bunch of idiots if this is true and they caved to give more money. He didn’t do a damn thing this year to deserve more money.

I understand them paying Nico to stay. Was he worth the pay raise? I think that’s perfectly ok to debate.
Absolutely. He was a RS Freshman expected to play like a Super Senior. QBs are getting paid more now than when he originally made an NIL deal. Part of it.

"People"? What "people"? I'm guessing that CJH would gladly suit down with him any time of the day or night. And wtf does his family have to do with it?

Spyre and coaches. Not to lobby for more money for himself, rather find out what the plan in the portal was to improve the offense this coming season. And what does his family have to do with their child? What 💀

confirmed by Will West of The Sports Animal, Iamaleava’s family, not Nico, lobbied for more money following the season than they had previously been promised when he was recruited from California in the Vols’ 2023 class.

Bringing the whole family to every game can get expensive.

Interestingly, I was talking to someone that played Football at a high level and knew players at Auburn back in the day. One thing they did to get around the NCAA was players would take some of the allotted tickets for their family and sell them to Boosters who way overpaid for the tickets to help the player out.
