that if Texas loses, Brown will be on his way out and Texas is gonna throw the house at Saban? My buddy does sports radio in South Mississippi and graduated Texas.

This is all speculation and rumor. Just curious if anyone heard anything around about it. I'm more curious at the Brown on his way out part than anything.

Yes, I've heard it. Saban would do it if they did indeed throw the house but I still don't believe it will happen.

Well once again my buddy did the math and with the new TV deal Longhorns did, Texas, if willing to do so, could go up to 9 million a year for a coach. I doubt its like that, but Saban has no allegiance to any job. Whats funny to me, I woulda bet 3 years ago that Saban would be at his last coaching gig at Bama, and Miles would use LSU as a stepping stone to Michigan. I know LSU as a stepping stone is absurd, but I really think Miles is a "Lifer" at LSU as long as they will have him.

Why would he step backward to texas? SEC is on top who does texas play that is a powerhouse. How did that work out the last time they faced an sec team?

I don't see Saban making the jump, how much would "the house" be @ Texas, 6.5, 7 million?

Well you gotta think, does Saban have all the assistants he really wants at Bama? I know he has a good contract there, but if Texas ponys up 7 million or more, they could easily pony up another 5 or 6 million in assistants.

mack is on his way out. the game has passed him by. texas is not going to put up with average seasons. i would not be stunned at all if saban gets this job. he's a carpetbagger. follows the money.

Texas is not a step back, it's a step toward easier recruiting and an easier road to national championships.

If Texas is seriously willing to go hard after Saban with a Godfather offer, you'd certainly think that it wouldn't be contingent on what they do against Cal in the frigging Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl. This has to be BS.

This. The idea that any of this would hinge on one game makes it silly.

Texas is a top five/ten job, and with all the local talent in the state is an easy sell too. Not to mention its a lot easier to win at Texas than at Bama in the SEC.

he would be stupid not to take it if he was ever offered. half the effort he's doing now with the same success

I really think that TX is a little overrated when it comes to recruiting rankings. I don't see howTexas can "Reload" every year and not be in the national title picture every year. I think that FL, GA and AL all produce way better talent than TX. A 4 star kid in FL is a 5 star in TX just because he is in the Lone Star State.

i think a lot of it has to do with the fact some of their high schools look like colleges. and theres a lot of them

Haven't heard that rumor before, but it's a good one. I just wonder if St. Nick will take the statue if he leaves.

Winners like Saban aren't looking for easy. I'd say he enjoys the intensity the SEC provides.
