that if Texas loses, Brown will be on his way out and Texas is gonna throw the house at Saban? My buddy does sports radio in South Mississippi and graduated Texas.

This is all speculation and rumor. Just curious if anyone heard anything around about it. I'm more curious at the Brown on his way out part than anything.

Saban has passed his normal stay. Time for him to move on.

Jackson, whats funny is that my buddy who is a Texas grad who does sports radio came up with the math on why Texas could get Saban and now I think its funny as people treating it as a 0 percent chance of happening or its just a wild rumor that someone is trying to start lol. I could see it just because Saban never stays at the same place. However Jackson, I'm gonna go ahead and nominate myself as the person to say I called this move. LOL

You get the honors! Saban to Texas. I heard it from you. He ALWAYS gets one of those five year balloon loans on his mansion in whatever city he happens to be coaching in. I'm thinking his five years are about up in Tucsaloser. Texas is the perfect fit. Mack has really made a mess of that out there.

Whats funny is that I don't know why a lot of people think he will be AD when he is done. I mean Alvarez at Wisconsin is the only longtime coach make a successful transfer to the AD position. Belotti tried it and it didn't work out. I'm sure all these long time coaches would want to slide into the AD spot but don't or can't due to donors or school administration. Examples are Bowden, Fulmer, Coker, Sherril at Miss. State, and a few others. I really think a longtime coach's last season is the audition for sliding into the AD spot. I would have loved for Fulmer to do that IF AND ONLY IF he woulda had a successful end to his career from 08 to 12 or 13. I really think that 6 year extension was gonna be his last six years here but we know how the story panned out.

This sounds prett shady, but here goes.

A close friend at work has a cousin who is dating a coach at USCjr. That coach said that's the rumor amoung coaches as well. Take that for what it's worth.

Granted I am getting this 3rd hand and can't confirm anything, but the rumor is the are going to offer him 10 million a year for 10 years. I know he make big money now, but with that kind of money he could ensure his kids, grandkids, and whoever else doesn't have to work nearly as hard as most people do.

I hope he goes. I would like to see bama become a middle of the road team.

There is also the family to consider, compared to TLossa Austin looks like the French Riveria.

Let's see,the family, his daughter graduated from high school in ttown,, and has been a student at UA for 3 years. He likes the lake scene and lives in a nice estate on Lake Tuscaloosa.

I really think that TX is a little overrated when it comes to recruiting rankings. I don't see howTexas can "Reload" every year and not be in the national title picture every year. I think that FL, GA and AL all produce way better talent than TX. A 4 star kid in FL is a 5 star in TX just because he is in the Lone Star State.

Ever noticed how many of them are in the NFL?

It could be that they're talented, but Mack Brown is mini-Fulmer and gets owned by Stoops...

Whys this in the UT football forum?

Because our main rival, if this happened by chance, would prolly take a step back. I mean honestly, can you think of any possible candidate to replace Saban? I mean everyone on here says ADs should have a short list of coaches at all times, good or bad. But when anyone wants to play the What If game y'all b!$ch and moan about it. We don't force ya to read this thread so like always, if you no likey, just dont click on it

I would almost bet Chris Peterson would pack the mini van..

His coaching ability, a loaded roster, and wilcox right next door. Probably the worst thing that could happen to UT..

I agree that Art Briles would be a great choice at Texas. I think A&M made a mistake in not going after him. Briles has won big at every level in Texas. To go 9-3 at Baylor is amazing.

Why? Peterson didn't even want the high profile job when Petey left USC. What makes you think he would go to Bama? Plus, his team just moved into a BCS conference. Even though it's just the Big East that's one positive step in te direction to actually having a chance at a national title. Truth is he may actually get a shot in the next five years simply because the BCS favors a big six conference over nonAQs.

You think Peterson would be worse for Tennessee than Saban is?

Saban's wife would be all for the move to TX. She supposedly hates living in Bammer land. Tuscaloosa is a dump compared to Austin. Heck, his wife probably heard the rumor and is already packing up the house:)

Texas>>>>>>any other job
Austin>>>>>Tuscaloosa
No state income tax>>>>>>Alabama

Austin is my favorite city in America. I couldn't imagine getting paid tons of money to get to live there.

Texas fans aren't nearly as crazy as Bama fans either.
