Of course I am, why even waste your time with an ignorant redneck?

Look, I understand you didn't actually say it, but that's how you voted and you later changed your mind. I udnerstand ad acknlowedged it. I will await another witty and intelligent comment as you attempt to justify the way you voted without thinking.

I did not vote without thinking, I allowed my opinion to be changed after I voted, by what others stated. I changed from, not an athlete, to athletes of a lesser nature. Not sure why you keep harping on this.

Now, I have justified my votiing, perhaps you can do the same for making up statements, that I never made.

Now, I will be back in a little while, I have to go drive somewhere. Or as Nascar people would say, I have to go train.

Yes, I gathered the statement by whichw ay you voted. I've said you never actually said it, but I figured with the way you had voted that is what you thought, but it doesn't matter since you came around and admitted they were somewhat athletes. We're in agreement on the sole purpose of the thread in which we both made some erroneous statements or assumptions.

Unless you'll be driving 200mph with the heater on, windows up, with a three-layer fire resistant suit and helmet on, in the middle of 40 other cars inches away from you, you're not training for anything. Well, except maybe to drive the pace car.

So when they are qualifiying or testing, they are not in training?

Wow, a lot or prerequisites to this. Not driving 200, but very fast. Think I have 2 layers on, not 3. No helmet, but I do where a hat sometimes. I travel on some narrow roads, so the cars do get really close sometimes.

racing is called motor sports for a reason.

for the most part, you have to be in shape to drive a car and i would say a good majority of the guys are. of course you have your fair share of out of shape slobs, but they show up in every sport. i consider somebody who maintains a workout routine to better themselves in a job that requires some sort of conditioning and stamina an athlete. so there is your sport.

also, there is a lot of engineering that goes into a race car. there is much math and some science. that's your motor.

put them together and you get motor sports. nothing more, nothing less.

Seeing as how there are very few slots available for trips aboard a space shuttle flight, they are competing with other potential astronauts.

Lame argument. There are tens of thousands of drivers that would do anything to drive a cup car!

I would admit they are athletes, just not the same degree of ones like football players, basketball players, etc.

Nascar drivers dont get to sit under the mist sprayers for a break just because the temp is a little warm like football players

I was at the Vegas race, and it was HHHHOTTTT

I would like to see a non-athlete set in a car that long in the desert heat and stick it out.

What in the world does your statement have to do with qualifying someone as an athlete.

That's funny, call my statement lame and then come back with your nonsense.

I wasnt using it as an argument. I was using it to hopefully shed some light as to how IGNORANT your statement was. I think you already knew this but could not resist the jab!!!!:good!:

OK cap'n, if anyone can spot IGNORANCE, I am sure it is you. I will let this be now, it is March Madness I could not care less about some Nascar/athlete argument.
