Are we going to give Cuonzo

I could careless if anybody agrees with me. I just tell it like it is! I speak from the heart and am passionate about my Vols. Cant say the same for you and others. You just keep on accepting mediocrity.

These threads are just downright dumb. Does anybody understand that you cannot and will not be a top 25 team year in and year out. Just take a look at UNC and UK both teams have some of the best players in the nation on their teams. Yet both teams are about as consistent as the Vols when comes to actually making plays down the stretch to close games out. Its basketball guys theres a hell of a lot of ups and downs.

Well said!

Hart will probably give this guy a raise and a 5 year contract extension for sneaking in the NIT. Do the right think Dave Hart, and fire this loser coach after THIS year. We dont have time to watch these guys bumble and stumble another year.

Where is the money going to come from to pay another buyout and the money to get a "proven coach" since you are so impatient to see what all Martin may be able to do?

I say fire him...then let's hire Phil Jackson as HC and give him bobby knight as an assistant.

BOOOOM problem solved, but seriously why can't we? Oh and let's bring Bruce back too and he can be the waterboy. Oooooo no better yet, Izzo.

Let's just tire hiring another coach every season. If they don't win 25-28 games and at least get us in the elite 8, it's time for another coach.

Bruice isn't available for another year so we will have to keep him, just from the standpoint of economics. The only thing that will make him a better coach next year is that everyone will be a year older and Maymon will be back.

But if his No Joy approach continues he will lose the players next year too.

He has a lot of what Dooley had, and unfortunately Dooley's record and recruiting skills. Before we dig to deep a hole we probably need to quit digging.

He's not going anywhere this year. We can all hope it turns around and just cover our eyes. I wish him the best, but this is suckin.

Like Cuonzo but he can't be complaining about team not taking care of the ball or team not knowing which guy to close out on/ shade their defense to in crunch time, etc, etc, etc during postgame pressers. Its his job to get them prepared. One more year to get it right and one year only. This year has been awful- very poorly coached. I'm very surprised that I'm writing this given last years team.

Has everyone forgotten what a good job he did last year with marginal talent. He made a great late season run and almost got in the NCAA. This year he is coaching with Pearls last class and his first class, which both were flops. Since then he has recruited 2 5* and just missed on a 4* from Memphis. He definitely deserves at least one more year.

I think Vols fans are quick to want to fire someone. Something to do with having a false sense of control on a message board.

As soon as UT has one bad performance next season, this thought will burn like wildfire through these boards. I know you are only being sarcastic, but there are already a few with this mindset. Every time they lose next year or don't play well this board will be buried in "Bring Back Bruce" threads and reminders that his show cause ends at the end of next season.

I have been to several games and I don't see a team very confident with the offense. And for a team that spends 70% of practice time on defense they look bad in this area also. Cuonzo stands by and lets the officials continue to give his team bad calls. Just wondering why everyone believes you have to get 3 guaranteed years. I wonder how many employers in Knoxville would hire a feller and him not do a good job for 2 years and set there and give him a 3rd year? Interesting......

How many employers have people doing a job that takes months/years of real relationship building (recruiting), bringing in a style of business, teaching his team/employees how to work this style when they were hired to run a different style, all while the big governing body was looming around and watching every move of the company?

Quit comparing Martins job to every Joe Schmoes job, its ludicrous. This is a totally different business. This is a "what have you done for me lately" business...very cutthroat. UT has been waaaaay too damn nice overpaying, giving contract extensions and buyouts to people that do not deserve them. Martin needs to really start feeling some heat. If he doesnt, then you know something is very, very wrong with this administration.

Just think... we could start a new twist on the "one and done", except we would be doing it with coaches!! I bet some of these posters would have fired Coach K before he ever got his feet under him. If he couldn't produce by year 2 dump him. That is pretty much the stupidest thing I can think of.
We have injury problems but I forgot... no excuses. If you can't take walk-ons and make a final four team out of them then pack your bags!! sheesh

It is different, so you all calling for his head need to quit saying "what other job will give you two years of failing?" It's a much rougher job to get things going the way he really wants it to go. I like that idea. You all would've wanted to fire Coach K after his first 2 years (17-13 in year 1 and 10-17 in year 2, and 11-17 in year 3 even). Get over your holier than thou stance and let the man work and see what he can do with a little bit of time. My god.

You can't argue with him like that. He told me (and at least he was honest) he'd have wanted Crean fired after his third year at Indiana. So he obviously isn't going to listen to that logic.

Just trying to save you some time. :hi:
