Are we in?

I almost hope Florida doesnt get in, maybe Meyer has enough cojones to step up and say what needs to be said to bring in a playoff. it will 2 out of the last 3 yrs an SEC team has gotten the shaft from the BCS.

Meyer has already made tons of remarks about making a playoff.

UM will get it though UF deserves it.

Ironically(and no offense UF), this may be the only chance for UF to win a NT this year. If UM wins the NCG and UF wins their BCS game, there will be a split. I'm really skeptical about UF vs OSU.

the ABC/ESPN halftime talking heads say...

John Saunders - Michigan
Craig James - UF
Flutie - Michigan

Flutie was trying to ride the fence but he seemed to be saying that to move UF above Michigan was punishing Michigan for a bye. If that logic holds I'd say you better buy a ticket to Nawlins' and remember to take Nagin a Hershey's bar.

Florida's SOS isn't better than Michigan's, much less "WAY BETTER."

I'd put Florida over Michigan. Wisconsin and Notre Dame have their high ranking largely because of weak schedules. Those are the only two good teams the Wolverines have beaten.

VolinArizona, are you sure about that SOS thing? I really thought Florida's ranked a lot higher. Last time I looked it was. At least I think it was.

There is no case when someone who disagrees is a moron. A case COULD be made for Michigan, it's just not as strong as Florida's.

Wow, I thought you and realUT were all over each other's jock the other week saying Michigan was the second best team and should go over a one loss UF. I apologize if I am remembering that incorrectly.

As you know, SOS isn't about 2 games. It's about 12 (or 13) games.

I'm not sure I was all over their jock, but at the time, after *WEEK 11*, Michigan had the better resume, IMO. Now, after *WEEK 13*, Florida's looks a little better.

I am divided as to who I would like to see in the title game. I think Michigan can play OSU better than UF. I think OSU would steamroll Florida. At this point of the season, I think a conference champion should have first shot though over a team that did not win their conference.

That doesn't seem like a very good reason to me. Regardless of Michigan not having a game, Florida held Arky to 28. And more importantly, Florida's offense FINALLY put together some drives.

The way they came back after Arky took all the momentum said a lot to me.

Why is a "Are WE(Florida) In?" Thread on the VOL board and not the OTHER SPORTS board. :neener2:

correct, so taking what you said, what do you call a person who thinks Mich should go, and what possible reason could they give that you could not counter

That's our best argument, no doubt.

Even when Florida got the rematch with FSU in '96, it was because after the close loss at FSU the Gators went out the next week and won the SEC.

I know, I'm just pointing out the top matchups for emphasis. Sure there are some better teams in the Big 10 than the bottom of the SEC. On the whole, though, Florida played all the good SEC teams this year and there were a good number of them. Beyond Wisconsin, Ohio State, and ND, I don't see anything on Michigan's schedule that can claim to top most of what UF has beaten. Florida has some crappy OOC's, but Michigan has Ball State. I think Florida definitely has the edge in the SOS department. They do in the kptvol rankings, at least.

I'm sympathetic to you LG. I just see how the voters will try to justify a MI-OSU rematch. Lame as that sounds to us there are a lot of people who want to see it happen.

I could counter every Florida argument as well. The ONE standout point that makes me think UF should go is that Michigan didn't win their conference.

Anyway, countering arguments is pretty easy.

SOS vary. Sagarin had all 10 Pac 10 schools in the top 11 SOS in the nation. UF was the only non Pac 10 team on that list and they were #9.

First of all, congrats LG and florida.

Regarding the 64K$ question, here is my criteria for judging the strength of a team: Who have they beaten?

Under this criteria, I think florida should be in over michigan. Florida has beaten UT, LSU, and arky. The only ranked team michigan beat was notre dame.
