Are you 100% certain about Miltons abilities?

One can not be 100% certain about anyone's performance. Performance is. dependent on a number of factors other than physical ability. Mental attitude can be more important than just any other factor. I have known athletes who have a world of physical talent but mentally can not execute consistently. I have also known athletes who may not be as talented as others but perform to the best of their talent and perform at near 100%. Other factors which affect performance include fatigue, injuries, nourishment, etc, as well as the performance of team mates and coaches' play calling.
I a not 100% sure of what his performance will be, but I believer it will be better than what we saw before his injury last year. The good thing is we do have an alternative in Nico, but he is really an unknown until he sees the field for the first time. I actually feel a lot of comfort going into the Fall and believe we will have a very good year.

I think a lot of you guys that are saying this aren’t taking into consideration that Clemson also had a month to prepare for Milton. It works both ways.
It's not taken into consideration because it's irrelevant to the argument. I don't care how long they had. It has nothing to do with Milton showing he can have the same success on a week to week basis with not a lot of turnaround time. Milton played a good game against Clemson but there were also some plays early in the game that were bad decisions. With that said, IF he can play to that level every week and continue to improve we should be fine.

Milton is comparable to Ainge; he's a very good player, but sometimes he has some head scratcher plays.

I think the majority of fans who are still cautiously optimistic about JM still understand we're in a much better spot at QB than many other big time programs who have to replace someone with an unknown entity.

I think the main concern for me is trying to quantify how awesome Hooker was for us. Will JM have to be at least as good as Hooker to lead us to the CFB playoffs? My prediction is yes. He will have to be at least nearly that good and that's why I'm skeptical. HH was nothing less than incredible the last 2 years. We're setting ourselves up for disappointment if we're expecting Milton to be better than HH.

The other part of that is will we be so much better at other positions and defensively to make up for how ever much of a drop we have at QB?

I certainly hope so. IMO, how much better will determine if we can make it to the playoffs.

I'm not 100% certain, but 100% hopeful, not just for my volunteers but for Joe as well. I'd hate to see talent like his not be utilized.

What I'm 100% certain about is that Milton deserves to have a storied season. Very few athletes with his physical gifts and natural swagger would be able to humble themselves the way Milton has these past two years, supporting their replacement so wholeheartedly and maintaining such wholehearted loyalty to their team (something all the more remarkable in the era of the transfer portal and NIL). I'm eager to see Nico on the field when his time.comes, but I want this to be Joe's year.

I believe the man has incredible athletic ability. He certainly has all the physical skills required to be great. And apparently, he is an outstanding practice QB. That said though, I am not convinced that he will make a great quarterback at UT in this offense. I can't get past the fact that he has had more than ample opportunities to become the starter at both Michigan and Tennessee. He was awarded the starting job here practically before he even enrolled. Yes he earned the job by displaying greatness in practice, but it just didn't carry over in game situations. I realize that he was injured and that injury allowed Hooker to become the perfect guy in the perfect offense. Hooker was a quick-thinking, deliberate player. He made snap decisions and trusted those decisions to deliver the football quickly without fear. If Milton can improve that aspect of his game, then I think he could go far.

He looked great against Vandy and Clemson so maybe the sideline time he endured was used wisely; I hope so.
One thing of which I am absolutely certain...Josh Heupel has forgotten more about football than I will ever know. So, if Heupel runs Milton out as the starter, there's probably a reason.
I will be the first to admit I am no expert at football. This is just my opinion and it's worth absolutely nothing.
Go Vols.
