Arkansas Hires Chaney and Pittman

Their staff looks pretty good compared to ours right now.

What are you talking about? We have the "best staff in the country", a.k.a. Cincy's finest. Just think: all the kids that were planning to go to Cincy, will now come to our school. Loading up!

Really didn't need fixing - if you have two first round wide receivers and a good quarterback you should be passing the ball every once in a while. 25th most productive offense in the country -- he was doing something right - not his fault Sal was screwing up the other side of the ball.

This^^^

My fellow Hog fans are ecstatic and I tip my cap to you guys for handling it well (I'm sure you knew it was coming). I'm really looking forward to Pittman. Of course, anyone would've been better than Klenakis.
Hope you guys get a great Oc/ol coach, I'm sure you will.

Does this mean we at least save a little buyout money?

I think chaney's buyout is guaranteed, so he gets the buyout plus his new salary.

Pittman getting picked up will help, as will hinshaw getting a job elsewhere.

unfortunately sunseri is unhireable, so we'll be on the hook for that one.

Saban may pull a Kiffin and hire Sunseri as a GA and let TN pay him.

Good get for Arkansas, hate to lose both of them.

All the Chaney haters need to STFU. Bielema knows what he's doing.

Good for them. Both did very well at their professions. I had disagreements about Chaney's playcalling (felt we should have been more run oriented) but those were philosophical disagreements. Wish them both the best except against us.

Chaney was the most underappreciated coach on Dooley's staff. All Vol fans prepare to see just how good a coach and play-caller he really was while he was here. You will have a greater appreciation when he starts calling plays against us.

Wonder how long Biliema puts up with Chaney abandoning the run game. Seems like an odd fit to me considering Wisconson's power run game style. JMO

I gotta think that the pass heavy scheme we employed was because of our playmakers being geared toward that. I liked chaney. I think he was the voice of maturity among a group of guys who still had to learn the coaching profession. Ironically if we had a defense this year he would have got a lot of credit for whatever bowl game we landed in and a lot of games we would have won. Of all the coaches we lost I lament his departure the most.

I liked him, too. There were some head scratching calls on 3rd downs, but I get the feeling that some of that was on our QB and not the play call. I have no way of knowing, but I am not sure our QB always made the correct decision on 3rd down. I was also frustrated with calls in last year's UK game with a QB coming back from a broken thumb.

Overall, though, Chaney knows what he is doing and is a heck of an offensive mind. I remember last year's UGA game, and he schemed well to get Rivera open. Wish him luck except against us.

Ironic sentiment in this thread considering all the "fire Chaney" threads and posts over the past few years.

I'd imagine BB will make chaney run the ball more than he did at Tennessee, but having a more pass heavy attack fits what our offense is geared towards right now since we just had petrino. We should be keeping all our young WRs now but some might be changing their minds on thinking Tenpenny might flip

Pittman was huge for us...our OL has been terrible the past few years. Wilson got crushed every game.
