The one thing Gundy's record has proven is there has been a winning progression in the right direction since he has been there...with the right DC he could be a really great coach here....but he isn't the super sexy hire...but he probably will not leave Ok. St. so none of this matters anyway.

If Petersen goes to Arkansas I will be sick. If he is really willing to leave, he should be our number one target.

That being said, not sure if I buy this.

I swear if they get him and we get a guy like Al Golden I will be sick to my stomach and will demand Hart to be fired, yall have to realize we can not miss on this hire we have to hit the homerun.

Mike Irwin and some semi-reputable people are reporting this. Some others (24/7) have duly noted that Patterson and Gundy both said no and Gus is the target. Their rumor mill is no better than the Tennessee mill.

Even if he does he is far from a sure thing. As good as they have been he has still pulled in a good recruiting class. Great coach, but question marks as far as the complete package. If he hired great assistants, he could be deadly

Chris Petersen dismisses rumors

When asked Monday about his name being mentioned in the search for the bevy of new coaching vacancies, Petersen simply looked at his watch, noted the time and chided reporters for taking so long to once again bring up the subject.
"Twenty-two minutes, that's better than I thought," Petersen said. "It's just rumors. That's all I really want to say about this, and I say it every year."

"It is what it is," Petersen joked about the latest series of stories. "It means zero here. We don't even pay attention to it."
Petersen acknowledged the rumor mill has in the past confounded recruiting efforts, then he quickly directed the press conference back to football questions and the Broncos' upcoming game with Nevada.
Earlier this year, Petersen signed a contract extension that pays him more than $2 million per year. The deal keeps him under contract through January 2017.

Although he could be the next Urban But it will be harder at Arky than Fl. I really do want to see him in the SEC and he is a coach I would be happy with.

lol @ Arkansas. We've been there! Rumors of Gruden turning down the job and then they say he was never offered. Now you got Petersen laughing about it. Welcome to your Dooley era Razorbacks. Expect your mediocre coach soon!

Would not surprise me at all to see Patterson (if he decides to leave which I'm not convinced he will) go to Arkansas....that's about as far east as he wants to be I would imagine....
