Army Soldier refuses to salute flag

Those are issued, btw:)

7th, I'll never question your service or what you've done, but

nothing like seeing a jumper, tied into a static line, and banging their head against an aircraft, and pulled back into an aircraft
reading post from VFB, Hog88, and York, Obssessed I'm tired of seeing VN turned into a pissing match

Lighten up Francis. I'm just having discussion and conversation. People get so temperamental just because I ask real questions and don't sugar things up. I'm not mad, never was.

Stupid selfie! Soldier posts pic of herself avoiding flag salute, ignites online firestorm* - NY Daily News

So what's everyone's thoughts on this?

I think she has the right not to salute the flag, but only if she's a civilian

She swore an oath to defend this country. That flag flies proudly over this country and a lot of soldiers died defending that flag.

My dad served in Vietnam under that flag and I think its a damn disgrace for her to do that while acting in her position

She is a disgrace to the uniform and this nation

There are plenty of soldiers and officers who, when aware of the time, will stay inside their office or company cages for an extra minute or two because they do not want to step out, stand at attention, and salute for two minutes.

Not smart to post the pic, but she is not a disgrace to the uniform nor this nation. She just lacks intelligence.

None of them (Rangers, SF, or Seals) are getting Rolexs from thier respective branch.

If your the winning team in the Best Ranger Competition, you get a set of Custom Colt Gold Cup .45's.

If someone's rocking a Rolex, they shelled out $4-$7K, or bought a fake in Korea.

This is the answer. They don't give anyone a watch of any sort for graduating Ranger School or any other school. Nor do you get one for joining the 75th or even any JSOC units.

Now, at the team level, they do issue watches like the Suunto X9 Military or other GPS watches for deployments. They would not issue a luxury watch like a Rolex as it wouldn't have any useful function in the field.

When I went through Ranger School G-shocks, Timex Iron Man and another watch that had a compass, altimeter and barometer were popular.
