Army Soldier refuses to salute flag

The emphasis on cardio was one of my issues with the AF. I could do 100 push-ups in a minute, max my sit ups, had a 32 or 33 inch waist, but I absolutely hate cardio.

It also sets a strange presidente when you are encouraging military members to look like marathon runners. Apparently "cancer patient" is the new military look.

Lulz

None of them (Rangers, SF, or Seals) are getting Rolexs from thier respective branch.

If your the winning team in the Best Ranger Competition, you get a set of Custom Colt Gold Cup .45's.

If someone's rocking a Rolex, they shelled out $4-$7K, or bought a fake in Korea.

Ok.

They are both liars.

What did I lie or exaggerate about?

Let's see....I won't doubt the 100 push ups but I will doubt you could do 100 in a minute. I would also question why do 100 when you max at less than that. It use to be like 82 in 2 minutes. That's at the lowest age group that requires the most. Also 6 or 7 minutes in a mile & a half? The world record mile is a little under 4 mins & stood at around 4 mins for a long time. 6 minutes in the mile & a half would be world class. 7 would still be tough. The 2 mile max for the lowest age group use to be a shade under 12 mins, I think 11:52 or less was max. That's roughly a 6 minute mile. You can do the math.

USAF is a 1.5 mile requirement.

Actually, 9:34 is the time for the most points for the 30-39 group and 9:12 for under 30. Sub 9 is pretty good time no matter what.

I agree. Anything around a 6 minute mile is very good IMO. He was saying 6 or 7 in the mile & a half from what I gathered which is crazy.

I could have sworn when they first raised pt standards in 2011 or 2012 that the time for males was like 7:30 or something crazy for max points. I'll give that I was wrong there. 100 push-ups in a minute I did, and have seen many other airmen accomplish. I think the current requirement for max points is 60-70, but a lot of people do more.

Ask them the name and where the obstacle course is.

It's not worth my time hog. I saw the watches. Maybe they get a discount or something. I don't know. But the watch I looked at real close was engraved.

Is this the same as when they first went to the new format in 2011/2012 or has it been revised again? I never ran 9:12 anyway, but I could have sworn the mark was set higher than that.

There have been incremental revisions, but the times for the run have not changed that much from what I remember. Don't ever remember it being anywhere near seven minutes.

Google netted me my answers. It seems it was before your time.

Seals were issued them along with green berets. Special forces and after a while it became a status thing.

Battalion and Companies can really blow through some money. I don't think they got them through Ranger Regiment or finishing the school, but perhaps their Battalion or Company got them the watches for picking up the tab by finishing the school or something. Have you ever seen either of them in uniform?

No but I have no reason to doubt either of them.

Could be, if they retired from one of the Battalions it might have been a retirement deal.
