Around the SEC

It'd be a lot easier to just disown your nephew!

Now. Now. He's a great kid. Not really a kid anymore at 24 years of age. He already has a job lined up working at a high school in Picayune, Mississippi. No way I could disown my good buddy. He likes UT too as his 2nd favorite college team.

He was born in Tennessee & rooted for them until enrolling at Ole Miss back in 2011. He has to root for his alma mater but he still roots for our Vols too just not when playing Ole Miss in any sport. :)

Georgia getting postponed yesterday is big news for our series with them next week.

Next week is already a day sooner and this puts even more of a change for their one elite arm. My guess is they won't even pitch him against us until game 3 now and won't at all unless that game is to get them into Hoover

They'll use him if they need a cushion to stay above .500 for the season after one or more losses at Hoover to be eligible for an NCAA bid.

Wonder who we're gonna pitch game #1 against Georgia tomorrow night? Will it be Zach or Soto or Freeman for the 1st game? I'd say probably Zach because he's been our most consistent SP.

That #2 A&M vs #7 Ole Miss is a great matchup. Along with #1 UF vs #10 LSU matchup. I believe ESPNU & SEC Network is carrying all 3 of the games between UF-LSU. We're playing Saturday's game at noon on SEC Network.

If Ole Miss can take at least 2 of 3 vs Texas A&M that will help them tremendously when it comes to seeding for the NCAA tourney.

We are throwing Will Neely.

Hey 31, firstly thanks for keeping this thread going for the season! Secondly, I just heard Vandy/Auburn is going to be a double header tomorrow...just wanted to give you a heads up on that one.

Neely is going to start? Well, that's a change for his role. He's been used pretty much exclusively out of the bullpen all season. How many games has he started? I wouldn't think over 2-3. I do remember him starting a couple of midweek non-conference games but that's about it.

Wait, I think he started one conference game too so I can't remember more than 3 starts for him. He has been pitching well though so nothing wrong with throwing him in there for another start. I'm still surprised we didn't go with Zach or Freeman to be honest though for game #1.

He started Sunday against Vandy, Friday against Florida, and Friday against LSU.

I didn't know that. I thought most of his starts had came against non-conference opponents a little earlier in the season. The one game that I remember him starting lately I believe was the one against Florida.

Thanks! I will get it fixed.

So has Georgia decided not to throw their ace this weekend?

I am assuming he isn't pitching until Tuesday

We're doing our best to help the Vols get to Hoover. Took two from Auburn today and they'll see Kyle Wright on Saturday.
