Arrow’s Roy Harper Upgrades to Arsenal for Season Three!

Got to admit that costume looks awesome!!

Leather must be the new spandex.
That or PVC which has a shine that is similar and resembles leather.

David Cubitt Joins Arrow as Mark Shaw, aka Manhunter!

David Cubitt Joins Arrow as Mark Shaw, aka Manhunter!

The Hollywood Reporter brings word this afternoon of yet another hero joining the ranks of The CW’s “Arrow” for its third season as David Cubitt (“Medium”) has been cast in the role of Mark Shaw, aka Manhunter. Cubitt will debut as Shaw in the third episode of the upcoming season as “an A.R.G.U.S. operative in Corto Maltese who crosses paths with Diggle.”

Created by Jack Kirby, Shaw took on the mantle of Manhunter as a result of his displeasure with the American judicial system, which he saw as being light on crime. Many characters have used the name throughout DC comics as vigilantes, but they’re also known as being the android pre-cursors to the Green Lanterns.

Manhunter isn’t the only hero joining the new season of “Arrow” as former Superman Brandon Routh has also joined the cast as Ray Palmer, aka The Atom, along with J.R. Ramirez who will appear as Ted Grant, aka Wildcat.

“Arrow” airs Wednesdays at 8 P.M. ET/PT on The CW with the new season set to premiere on October 8.

.

The casting of Wildcat is too young IMO. Should have gone with the older version of Ted Grant.

This could be better than originally thought!!

Rila Fukushima Replaces Devon Aoki as Katana on Arrow

Rila Fukushima Replaces Devon Aoki as Katana on Arrow

The Wolverine star Rila Fukushima is set to replace Devon Aoki as Tatsu Yamashiro (aka Katana) on the upcoming third season of "Arrow." Deadline reports that Aoki departed the series due to scheduling conflicts.

A skilled martial artist, Katana gets her name form the deadly sword she wields which contains the souls of everyone she has killed, including her late husband. It's unclear if this supernatural angle will manifest itself in the character in the series, but we do know that she will be important to Oliver's flashback sequences in the upcoming season. In the comics, the character is closely associated not only with the Birds of Prey but also Batman's The Outsiders.

"Arrow" airs Wednesdays at 8 P.M. ET/PT on The CW with the new season set to premiere on October 8th.

I'll post this here first since it hasn't yet been sold to any network or picked up to series..

Supergirl Takes Flight With TV Series From Greg Berlanti & Ali Adler

Supergirl Takes Flight With TV Series From Greg Berlanti & Ali Adler

On the heels of the success of Arrow and the strong buzz for its upcoming offshoot The Flash — both co-created and executive produced by Greg Berlanti — the top producer is looking to transition another popular DC superhero character to the small screen. I’ve learned that Berlanti has teamed with Ali Adler, who worked on his ABC series No Ordinary Family, for a TV series based on Supergirl. Warner Bros. TV, which is behind all DC TV series, will produce with Berlanti’s studio-based Berlanti Prods..

I hear the project, which is still in development, will be a new interpretation of the Supergirl character and her story. Adler will write the script and will executive produce with Berlanti Prods.’ Berlanti and Sarah Schechter. DC’s Geoff Johns, who has been involved in both Arrow and The Flash, is also expected to be part of the project but it is unclear at this time what his role will be. The Supergirl show doesn’t have a name yet. I hear the producers are considering several options that need to be cleared, including Super and Girl. The project is expected to be taken out in a couple of weeks and pitched to the major networks the way WBTV and DC did with their high profile Batman prequel Gotham, which landed at Fox with a big commitment. The Supergirl series had been in the works at WBTV for some time with Berlanti and Adler. Contrary to a report that was picked up by a number of outlets, Michael Green has had no involvement in the project.

The Supergirl character was created by writer Otto Binder and designed by artist Al Plastino in 1959. There had been several characters that had assumed the caped girl persona, most notably Superman’s cousin, Kara Zor-El, who shares his super powers and vulnerability to Kryptonite. There has been a push to get more female superhero characters in comic books and on the big and small screens. Marvel has a Jessica Jones series in pre-production at Netflix.

There will be four DC/WBTV series on the air this coming season, Gotham on Fox, Arrow and The Flash on the CW and Constantine on NBC. In addition to Arrow and The Flash, Berlanti has new NBC crime dramedy The Mysteries Of Laura, and his company just sold conspiracy thriller Blindspot to NBC. Berlanti and Adler are repped by WME.

Several thoughts!!

They missed one DC project when discussing DC?WB related shows set to air! iZombie on the CW will air in the winter or spring!

Another thing this nugget "will be a new interpretation of the Supergirl character and her story" When ever you hear that its usually not good! The only thing that makes this a possible fantastic show is Berlanti and what he has done with Arrow and what we have seen so for with The Flash!!

They always say it will be a new interpretation or a new take. It's hype. But I could think of several ways they could go with the story.

Other than the big three, I think DC characters are better suited for TV than they are for the movie treatment. I'd love to see more charcters given the TV treatment.

Wasn't that impressed with the premiere...... until the end. Whoa. Did not see that coming.

This is probably what starts Laurel down the path to becoming the Canary! Revenge? So who killed her? Most will think Captain Jack Harkness but that's to easy!

It was great seeing Clark k.... I mean Ray Palmer! Man he really did do a great C.K.

So the name of the city might become Star City!!

Also a future episode perhaps a Arrow/Flash crossover ep. is being titled "The Brave & The Bold"

I've seen a spoiler for a coming role, so I think I know who it is based off of alter egos. But yeah, given Black Canary's name in comics is Dinah Laurel Lance, the writing was on the wall for her to eventually become the character, I just didn't think it would happen quite this way. I thought Sara might help her in training. Now I wonder if we'll see Nyssa return or if maybe we can look forward to Lady Shiva.

I honestly enjoyed that Superman. Perhaps I was in the minority with that one, but whatever. He was also in a show most people probably didn't see that was called Fear Itself that was really good. He doesn't look a day older than he looked in Superman Returns or Chuck.

I can't believe they killed off Sarah.

Closet comic dweeb. Explains why you like shows based off of comics.

I caught a Fear Itself marathon on Chiller or IFC recently. A few of them were really good.

I'd be into comics but I can't read. :)

That's why they have pictures, doofus.

BTW, I bequeathed my hug to Jerry for his birthday, so you now owe him a hug, sans shirt, with baby oil. He was extremely excited, so don't disappoint.

Yes, I actually enjoyed quite a few of those episodes. Some of them were pretty creepy.

:) If you just look at the pictures you miss a lot of info inside all those bubbles.

Wait, so you mean Jerry isn't manly enough to cover a hug from two guys? Say it aint so!

Be nice. Jerry is more man than both of us and more woman than you can handle.

Yeah they were.

3-somes are overrated

You completely missed the message.

No, you should definitely not boom that. lol

It's all good. Little bro has stamina. He booms a lot. Now grab the baby oil and give him a hug. The boom will be over before you know it.

So I fell for the red herring. I thought it would be Komodo. I do have an alternate theory, but it's far-fetched. It involves someone most wouldn't suspect, and something of particular importance to the leader of the League of Assassins.

My alternate theory atm:

I'm thinking maybe it's Shado, ressurected with a Lazarus Pit. Of course, if that were the case, Sara could return the same way.

'Arrow': Vinnie Jones Joins Season 3 as DC Villain

Vinnie Jones Joins Season 3 as DC Villain

Starling City has another foe.

Arrow has snagged British actor Vinnie Jones in a multiepisode arc as a DC Comics villain, The Hollywood Reporter confirms.

Jones, who previously appeared in TV's Elementary and The Cape, has been cast as Danny "Brick" Brickwell, a gang leader. He begins his three-episode trek in episode 10.

In DC lore, Brick is a metahuman whose stony skin grants him invulnerability and super-strength. His success as an underworld kingdom is due mainly to his peerless criminal mind rather than his superhuman abilities. This marks the first time the character will be featured in a live-action property.

Jones is the latest addition to an Arrow guest cast that includes Ra's al Ghul (Matt Nable), the Atom/Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), Thea's new love interest (Austin Butler), Digger Harkness/Captain Boomerang (Nick Tarabay), Wildcat/Ted Grant (J.R. Ramirez), Felicity’s mother (Charlotte Ross), Maseo (Karl Yune), Katana (Rila Fukushima), Felicity's college ex (Nolan Funk) and Mark Shaw/Manhunter (David Cubitt).

Jones is repped by Innovative Artists and Elevate Entertainment. Arrow airs 8 p.m. Wednesdays on The CW.
