I read a Dallas Morning News article. They took a lot of outside heat on the hire but the community was on board.

Even with poor recruits his team is out performing our top recruiting classes. He must be doing something right. No he’s not beating the top teams, ie. osu, whisky, but he is overachieving. Not a bad option. At least he has been a head coach in a power 5 conference.

You don't get to have it both ways. If you protested Schiano because of his "involvement" in the Penn State scandal, then you don't get to be for the hiring of Briles who was way more instrumental in his sexual assault scandal than Schiano was. Pick a side, either you're in the majority, or you aren't and should admit to being an hypocrite when it came to hiring Schiano. I'm not necessarily directing this reply to just you, but also to all those who think this is the right move. Tennessee will get crucified in the national media for the exact reasons listed above, which will make this program even more of a joke than it already is and will cement the reputation of this fanbase as a bunch of dumb hillbillies.

If Briles is radioactive so is any big name coach in college football. ALL coaches push the limit of what they are suppose to do. Tennessee has hired these choir boys to run the football program and you see what it has become in the last 10 years or so. Fulmer needs to do his JOB and hire a big time coach.

This is the daily joke post about our new coach. We have a coach that isn't getting fired and he sure as heck isn't quitting. Please stop the madness. He may be in over his head, but he's our coach no matter what!

As much as I would like to see Fickell, don't think it ever happens. He's a big ten / midwest type guy and will keep building at Cincy until the right job comes open in the big ten...possibly Penn State or OSU if Day makes a run at the NFL.

I would say that sounds successful for Cincinnati.
