Liberty or Texas Tech should give him a shot next year. The Liberty AD (Ian McCaw) is the guy that hired Art at Baylor so I'm guessing that Briles has a shot at that job...plus Liberty doesn't care what SJWs and MSM thinks about them.

He would probably be terrible at recruiting in sec, with probably no good contacts in this area. We need someone who at least has some contacts in the region. But with this said I would not be against his hire, he could build up contacts, and as long as we see improvement give him time, but with no improvement coach search again. If we are not going after a proven sec coach winner, keep Pruitt till his contract ends. And for goodness sakes don't give him another extension, until he has proven to be a winner.

we didn’t want Schiano because he’s not a good coach, and is a yankee. The Penn St stuff was just a convenience. I wouldn’t want him even without the PSU baggage

I am ALL FOR IT! He was just the scapegoat at Baylor! They hung that whole debacle on him despite all of the upper level administration being involved in it! Hire him and bring Kendall with him! We’ll be hanging 50 on everyone! Sign me up!

Contrary to media-driven mythology, he reVOLt was not about Schiano's ties to Penn State, but his obvious ties to Haslam and mediocrity. This was a critical, pivotal moment in Tennessee football where we wasted an opportunity to find a top-tier coach. It was clear that Haslam drove Currie to quietly hire a mediocre Schiano in secret. Curry obeyed without considering better candidates. Schiano did not have a good track record, is not well-liked and was nowhere near among the top tier candidates Curry should have been pursuing on the market. The fans were angry about Haslam and Currie conspiring to foist another mediocre coach upon us - squandering the critical window of opportunity.

Me, myself, and I. Others would support it as well, at least their post or reactions to posts lend to that calculation. I really don’t care who the coach is as long as he wins. Just open the damn football factory back up, remove the additional academic requirements that are self-imposed and do whatever it takes to win without major sanctions (or don’t get caught) in all phases of the program. Bring back the Fulmer Cup if it means at least 10 wins a year. College football is about winning.

As an OC, why not? Scratch that.....

Bring in Kendal Briles as the OC and hire Art to fill Chip Long's vacated position.
