As a fan that attended, I will say this

Nah, they really are pieces of sh*t. I’ll stand by that. They weren’t short handed at the skill positions like we were.
Emmett smith, Jerry rice, and Tyreek hill all wearing orange last night wouldn’t have won us that game. We were piss pour in all facets, especially coaching, preparedness, and motivation. I’m sick of the jimmy and joes excuse. Of course it matters but so does coaching and having a team ready. Less talented teams beat more talented teams every weekend. How long do we keep making excuses for this staff?

I hope we get a rematch next year in Neyland and we’re not short handed at the skill positions like we were last night. Losing Sampson, Thornton, Squirrel on the offense made a huge difference. I get that it’s next man up for us, but i think Ohio State surprised themselves with their performance. I won’t be watching the rest of the playoffs, but I hope Oregon beats the absolute sh*t out of OSU. Their fans are terrible and were terrible even before the “flag planting” thing was said. I will never congratulate that fanbase for anything, even the majority of their stadium workers were rude as hell.
Oregon fans may not be any less obnoxious. A friend who played in the old PAC 12 said Oregon fans were by far the most obnoxious in that conference..

I seen no intensity from any of our players with the exception of Nico. He did play hard. It's like on the first series when we sacked their qb, and got called for a face mask, which we did do this. But like after that no intensity at all.

I’ve never been as close to punching an opposing fan as I was last night. Totally lost my cool a couple different times.

Georgia and Bama fans are indeed dwarfed by the arrogance of the Buckeye fans.

Closest I ever came to a brawl was at a ND/GT game lol.

Something about those rust belt teams and their fans just annoys me I think.

They were gifted one

Which one are you saying they were gifted?

I would say both of them were honestly

They got a very lucky call at the end in 2001 which saved them.

Wisconsin laid down for them in the B10 championship game. Buckeyes won like 59-0. They were shut out of the playoffs before that runaway win.

The one vs Miami where the official said he did a replay in his mind then threw a flag.

Ok but as I said they were gifted a playoff berth in 2014 also-the last time they won the NC

Granted they won that on the field, but doesn't change the fact that they should have never been there to begin with.

Jimmy’s and Joe’s guys ignore the Jimbo Fishers of the sport. There is a fine line between raw talent and skills, but so much more diligence is required to harness it, all the same.

I had no issue with them. They talked some smack but by in large, they were extremely shocked and impressed with how the TN fans showed up.
The TN showing when the university was only given 3500 tickets was something legendary. It’s a shame that the game itself was so forgettable.

You guys were very loud when we started the first quarter on defense. It sounded like a home crowd at a SEC game (watching on tv).

Had to spend extended time in the Cincy area setting up a facility like a decade ago. First time I had spent more than a day or two there.

Extremely happy to say I haven't gone back lol.

Place is a proper dump full of self righteous tools man. WKRP in Cincinnati lied to us all. Place is as far as you can get from the inherit cool of Dr Johnny Fever and Venus Flytrap.
From afar it looked ok but maybe I'm wrong. Wouldn't be surprised in the slightest.

Oregon came to Knoxville 12 or so years ago. They were highly ranked and we sucked (Dooley days). Just one game but they were totally harmless and fun-loving.
The OSU fan is in a different class altogether.

They have a decent St Patrick's Day parade. Went to an art museum there decades ago that was pretty cool. There used to be a Dave and Busters ripoff thing right outside of downtown that was pretty cool. The zoo is not bad

Above and beyond that, there wasn't a whole lot to offer. I think I saw every movie that came out in the theatre multiple times when I was stuck there lol. I couldn't really get interested in their chili culture.

The weirdest thing was that this was in 2914ish-well before Covid anyway -and the Wal Marts closed at 8 pm. Was just weird man. Like bizarre world

OSU has a percentage of ass hat fans like every major university does (as does UT). In my experience the actual alumni tend to be a little more reasonable than the non-alumni fan (again the same with UT). I do think certain areas are more hospitable like Knoxville vs Columbus bc our city isn’t a **** hole of crime & General Southern hospitality.

Enjoyed meeting Oregon fans that day. Of course, we all got drenched in the "monsoon" that came in the 1st half. Chip Kelly was Oregon coach; now he's OC at Ohio St.

Pathetic thread. You folks need to stop whining and stop making excuses. Their TEAM was better than our TEAM. I'm guessing they also had key players out, but their replacements were better than ours. If I'm wrong, and they had no players out, then perhaps that's because they were bigger, stronger, faster, healthier and more durable athletes than ours...which means they were a better TEAM. They had better plays than we had, meaning better coaches, and that means a better TEAM. As far as the fans were concerned, what do you expect after all the trash-talking that went on leading up to the game? You want a better fan experience? Stop trash-talking and show them the kindness and respect you want in return. I laughed and joked with my OSU buddies, and none of it was rude or malicious or trashy, and we had a great time.
