As a fan that attended, I will say this

I hope we get a rematch next year in Neyland and we’re not short handed at the skill positions like we were last night. Losing Sampson, Thornton, Squirrel on the offense made a huge difference. I get that it’s next man up for us, but i think Ohio State surprised themselves with their performance. I won’t be watching the rest of the playoffs, but I hope Oregon beats the absolute sh*t out of OSU. Their fans are terrible and were terrible even before the “flag planting” thing was said. I will never congratulate that fanbase for anything, even the majority of their stadium workers were rude as hell.
About the rudeness, given how our fans ran off their mouths, insulted the name of their stadium, and basically just carried on and on with the trolling, we reaped what we sowed.

Yep. On the road. Against the best roster in the country. Without a lot of key guys. And catching them after a big loss.

Not the best scenario

Well it’s like I mentioned in other threads, the stars aligned for OSU. Even their fans were surprised by their performance. It just wasn’t UT’s night.

Just the same, if they were rude as claimed, it's because we were pregame rude. As face answers to face in a mirror, so answers the heart of man, to the heart of man.

OSU has 2 national titles in the last 54 years. I've never understood their arrogance.
I mean they have won 2 national titles since 2002

They also have had 5 national championship appearances in the same time frame

The question is why do our fans act so arrogant when we haven’t even sniffed the playoffs or been to a championship game since 1998. And our last championship before that was 1967. They have won a hell of a lot more than we have.

They also have only had to get up for 2 games a year.

Dude all fanbases talk up their teams. It has nothing to do with how many championships won.

Trash talking after we just got humiliated in every phase of the game is a HORRIBLE look. They are no worse than our fanbase changing the name of the stadium on Apple Maps, or playing Rocky Top at waffle houses throughout the city, or copious amount of trash talk our fans did on social media leading up to the game. Everyone I encountered was extremely pleasant, and perhaps you just don't like the taste of crow.

Reality of the situation is OSU let their gameplay speak for itself. The game illustrates the huge talent gap, along with a gap in coaching ability between Tenn and any CFP contender. Worry not about a rematch as next yr we will be 8-4 and not in the playoffs.

"I'm old enough to recall the curb stomp Nebraska put on UT 55 to not a lot in that wretched bowl game. With Manning and company on the roster. It happens. The world is not ending. We were short on some key skill positions. Be that as it may, those players, except Sampson, rarely showed up in any game to amount to any significance. And I've not been all season, nor am I now, sold on Nico. My opinion, my choice. And after watching them and a few other teams this year with young mind boggling receivers the staff needs to redefine what they recruit for receivers. I commend Peyton Lewis for playing hard and doing the best he could to fill the void. No one in the offensive backfield was extended any courtesy of a decent block. Gotta give Chip Kelly a nod. He's great at OC. He schemed on one of the countries stengiest D's all season and took them to the wood shed. Only 2 teams scored over 30 on us all year, and hte average was around 20 give or take. Bad ending to a 10 win season we haven't seen in a long time. There will be weeping and nashing of teeth in here for a while from a bunch of numb skulls that didn't even think we'd go 10 games.

Oregon beat Osu by 1 point this season. Expect more of the same. But Osu could be the victor.

Throw all that in the bucket with the need to avenge the michigan game, and you got a can of whoopie fixing to open. And it did. On the bright side, OSU is now 3-12 all time verses SEC teams.

To your reality check there, we obviously do not have a receiver on roster in the same zip code as their freshman. He was impressive to say the least. Plus there #2 TB was Judkins. We know he can run. On any given saturday could we beat OSU. Yes. But not this past Saturday. Too many things in their rear view mirror they had to get rid of. Was no different than catching GA at home the week after they got embarrassed at Ole Miss.

If UT doesn't get a Influx of Talent on BOTH lines of scrimmage and changes aren't made in the STAFF---- (OC & DC) Tennessee won't sniff the playoffs again for a LONG time. Look back at who Tennessee beat this year, A Subpar bama, florida, AND okla, msu, uk, vandy, . They were over-rated. Simple.

Well, that Nebraska game was actually 42-17. Just like Sat night. Maybe in nearly 30 years these young’uns will remember back to this game as “55 to not a lot” because that’s what it felt like.

Remember back in that game, PM had a bum knee from the SECCG. THAT’s why Nebraska ran for over 400 yards on us! Anyway, that following year turned out OK…..

Baby steps. When was the last time we got to enjoy a 10 win season. 4 years removed from a disastrous program. And a 9 win average on limited scholly's in these 4 years. The present ain't bad, and the future is looking much better.

My wife is an LSU fan, bayou native. I'd much rather be in our shoes at the moment.

I had no issue with them. They talked some smack but by in large, they were extremely shocked and impressed with how the TN fans showed up.
The fans showed up just like we always have. The team didn't and that's the problem. Maybe they still win a close one if we brought our A game, but we looked like we didn't even belong on the field and that's just plain unacceptable.

He brought up that Ohio State shouldn’t talk up their team, i was just saying that they have been way more successful than us. We puff out our chest more than anyone and i love this fanbase. Just dont like when we play hypocrites

Any school that tried to trademark the word “THE” as part of its name probably has issues.

The worst fan bases in the country in terms of pure arrogance in my experience are OSU and Penn State. PSU is actually worse because of how delusional they are, believing they are a top tier program equal to OSU, UGa, and Bama.
