How many gut wrenching, rookie mistakes are we likely to witness the first few games?

How deep into the season do you think we'll see them?

This is what Dooley has done to me apparently.

I know the feeling. Dooley left a very bad taste in our mouths. Makes it hard to trust a new coach. But CBJ has shown a great deal more energy that Dooley ever did. I try to be objective but my orange colored glasses have me in full faith mode with our new coach

I expect significantly less. With CBJ's emphasis on winning every play, matchup, snap, etc. the players should become conditioned to do things the proper way & not be so in their heads (he has some quote about that too).

CBJ preaching the practice of being great everyday / every play to get better, I can't see how these guys will be making sloppy mistakes too far into the season.

To quote Aristotle, "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit."

I truly think that this seemingly small change will result in big differences for the team next year.

Also you hear him yelling in the practices "angle, angle"

I can't count the times brent brewer took terrible angles to the ball last year.

We've got a ball coach now. Not a wannabe.

A few, as with any time schemes are changed. But I think the difference will be that we actually adjust to fix the problems. Something we didn't do much of the last few years. Also, if we are in better shape as a team, that will help reduce both physical and mental mistakes like we had in the 4th quarter quite a few times

That was the motto of my high school's drumline when I was there. Great quote.

I know that this is being woefully optimistic but, with as little experience as we currently have at quarterback and wide receiver, I would love to see this team do whatever it takes to manufacture 200 ypg on the ground. Butch has said, and I believe him, that we will play to the strengths of our personnel and we all know that, offensively, that means the front five. Butch has demonstrated an attention to detail in everything that he does which I believe will manifest itself in a better conditioned, mentally tougher and more disciplined team than we have seen in a while.

I honestly expect to see a result similar to the 2009 season. And this time around, we win the damn bowl.

All I know is that a gator troll on here predicted that our first play from scrimmage last year would be a false start.............and it was. At the time I laughed, then I think I cried.

There are gonna be some rough spots this year, especially early. This team, in no particular order....

1. Does not tackle well, in fact it tackles poorly
2. Has not been well coached the last 3 years
3. Does not have a proven, experienced QB, WR, defensive secondary....
4. Does not yet know how to win
5. Has some talent but very little depth
6. Has to learn an entirely new system on offense, defense, special teams

My thought is its not gonna be very pretty for awhile. This year will be baby steps and we'd better be prepared to be patient.

I'm leaps and bounds more confident in Butch than I was in Dooley. I think he's going to get people motivated, and above that, I think he can coach, and I think the guys he's got on his staff can coach. For once, I feel like I won't be watching a Tennessee team that leaves me scratching my head with their poor tackling, technique, etc., and I think we could reach that point in the first three games.

Feel the same given CBJs track record, what I've seen/heard thus far. But there are a lot of obstacles he's gotta overcome. I think we'll see a much better coached, more disciplined team over time, but I think patience is in order for the first year for sure.

Of course, and I won't be surprised if we have some moments, but I'm thinking we will be surprisingly good this season. I haven't felt really good about a season in a while, and I think that's coming from Butch.

Love what he's done so far and I think this translates on the field this year... just maybe not in the wins we'd all like to see. Think CBJ eventually does really big things here.

You should seriously think about changing your avatar.

I really like what CBJ is doing with this team. I think we will see a big difference in a Jones coached team over a Dooley coached team. I just worry that there is not enough time for Jones to undo all that needs to be undone.

I expect his first season to be a lot like kiffins. Upsetting a team or two and dropping one we expected to win. I think will be competing for the east sooner then people are expecting.

I think CBJ will have these guys coached up enough for them to go into the fourth and we know there still hungry for the win. Many times last year did the team go into halftime looking great and then they come out in the third and welp there it went. Coaching and stamina will show in the fouth when the game can be won or lost.

You can count on there not being enough time. He's a solid teacher/mentor so they'll get there, but you can't undo that much failure in 1 offseason. We have grown accustomed to sucking and it will be a grind to pull out of our funk.
