Nah the offense just isn't there. Hasn't been there for the entire SEC schedule except for against MSU, the worst team in the SEC.
Brother if BYU and the Indiana’s if the world are playoff teams then we’re plenty good enough. This team is plenty good enough to stomp the piss out of Penn state or Indiana if they can get into the playoffs.

I guess because the game was on the road, I didn't expect us to win, anyway. I expected us to be competitive and for the most part, we were. If Tennessee misses the CFP, it won't be because of tonight's performance. It will be because we lost to Arkansas, which remains inexcusable.

This team is 100% a playoff team.
They have all the potential to be but crapped the bed in a big moment once again. This a good team, but they’re not play-off ready imo. I’m mostly pissed about that poor defensive display tonight than anything. I certainly wasn’t expecting whatever that was, but this team still has a good shot at finishing 10-2 and will exceed their preseason expectations. It’s been a wild year with a lot of parity. Nico will grow up and the Vols will be ok.

Being a playoff caliber team is much different this year with the expanded playoffs. I think its fair to think we are not a Championship caliber team, but that is different than a Playoff caliber team.

We are certainly worth being a playoff caliber team. There will be teams from other conferences that will get a spot that we would be favored over on a nuetral field.

For me, I want to be included, even if I don't think we stand much a chance of winning the whole thing. I think making the playoffs will soon be recognized as an achievement. Similar to how teams measure how far they make it in March Madness, I think the same will be crowned to college football programs. Making the top 12, Elite 8, Final 4, and Championship will all be measuring sticks of achievement worth celebrating.

There ought to be a clause in the staff contracts that says "if you drop a game to an awful team you have no business losing to, and subsequently kneecap the team's shot at the post season, nobody gets paid."

Maybe that would do it. College is all about money now, and Tennessee can't stop losing to one dreadfully bad team each year. They actively make it so hard on themselves every year.

So OP if we’re not a playoff team who is? The Bama team that our defense dominated? The Penn State team that doesn’t have a win against a top 40 team? The Texas team that got drug at home by the same team we just hung on the road with?? The OM team that lost to KY? We still have a better than 50% shot and could drastically improve that with some help from Army/ Oklahoma or Florida next week. Everyone calm down.
Preach brother!

Our offense isn’t garbage. It’s not great because of our pass protection problems but it’s better than all 3 of them. Penn State beat Bowling Green by 7, Notre Dame lost to Illinois Illinois , Indiana has played no one better than Kentucky.

It won't matter. Penn State will get in at 11-1. Don't like it, petition the staff to apply to join the B1G.
