The Arkansas loss was the game that put us out of the playoffs without beating GA. Funny the Vandy loss Alabama has is not looked upon as a deciding factor. What is their biggest wins this year? LSU is not a top caliber team, I suppose GA?

It is obvious that the guys in Vages read our team pretty well. Last night we let Carson Beck look like a two time All American instead of a run of the mill QB who had thrown 12 interceptions in his last 4 games. The key to game had to be pressure him and make him throw the ball to us. Instead, we gave him time to throw to wife open reveivers and let him complete all his passes in the last half. A win against Vandy is not a given.

Agree about disappointment because I thought Georgia was very beatable. However, we have had the benefit of a week schedule and the defense has certainly been much better than expected.
Defensive game plan last night a mystery when it became apparent that rushing four was not going to work. Particularly when their WR core is not much better than ours.
I may be in a significant minority, but I am truly skeptical of how good Nico can be. He is currently a Milton 2.0. A fastball and nothing else. With a good not elite WR group maybe he would be more accurate. I believe the offense is limited in its scope because CJH does not trust Nico to throw in the middle of the field.
A complete new group of WR and new Oline group will be necessary to repeat this year's record.
I actually enjoyed the week and the game as it is the first time in a long time(too long) that we been in a nationally significant game
This could be as good as it gets record wise

Your are comparing a RS Freshman to a 6 year Sr that was in 2 different Systems.
Both have talent and why don't you compare GA Stats for the 2.
Most here had our record at 8-4 and 9-3 at best. On paper about the same.
10-2 will be an accomplishment in this league so the comparison is dumb.
I didn't see any problems in the first quarter and the first drive in that game was the best I had seen.
Can't put it all on the players and cannot put it all on the Coaches. At this point it is a lack of consistency. So get over it.

UT never had a chance once the second half started. GA did what they wanted and TN had no offense or defense to make it a game. Kirby owns Heupel and he knows how to stop his offense from the first time we played them. Heupel brings him nothing new from year to year.

TN's passing offense is just anemic in SEC play and is holding this team back from being a solid playoff team.

In 7 SEC games:
Total Passing Yards = 1,386 (198 yds/gm)
Total Passing TDs = 5 (0.7 TDs/gm)
Total Passing INTs = 3 (0.4 INTs/gm)

Hard to point to just one issue but definitely enough blame to go around from players to coaches.

Again it was a one score game in the 4th quarter. So yes UT did have a chance.

Half time adjustments were made by one team and not the other. Heupel and his staff got completely out coached. I've never seen the defense this bad all year against a QB who is an interception throwing guru. No pressure on the QB at all even though we have 3 complete D lines to throw at them. We got beat by a bunch of petty little tricks that somehow "fooled" our defense.

And the passing game that we absolutely needed to be there just was not. Too many critical drops or overthrows. People want to blame the OL but Tennessee had plenty of chances with balls in the air to get it done. Not entirely the QB or WR fault it's the whole effort. Our running game was the only bright spot on offense.

Now be consistent and go look at Indiana, Penn State and Notre Dame’s schedule. Florida and Kentucky are better than most teams that they’ve played. We also have a win over an elite opponent which none of them have

The Vols are a playoff caliber team, they are better than PSU,UI,BYU,Miami, and Boise St. They just aren't quite a championship team. It takes both sides of the ball to be championship level. They are lacking in the pass game.

We are definitely a playoff caliber team if the definition is a "top 12 team in the country".

But we're not a national title contender IMO. I think the title contenders are Texas, Oregon, Ohio State, Bama, Georgia, and maybe Notre Dame. We're in that next tier with Ole Miss, Penn State, and Texas A&M of 'teams that are good but not winning 3-4 straight against elite competition'.

They may have been wrong about our W/L total for the year, and they may have been wrong about beating the gaters, and they may have been wrong about beating Bama, and Oklahoma....but by gawd if they say we ain't a playoff team, we ain't a playoff team.

There's too many things need improving...... Defense hasn't played good last 3 games Ky
ran at will....TN cldnt tackle Miss St RB or QB then Ga game Beck cld the drop back take 7-8 secs find receiver or take off on 20-25 yd gain
It was disappointing....I don't know can Nico not read "D"
I don't know....it's frustrating
