Kentucky, Florida, Arkansas would all be upper tier big 10 and big 12 teams. Alabama is a better win than just about anybody elseHow many playoff contenders with 2 losses have played 5 of the 6 worst teams in their conference and have only beaten one FBS team with a winning record? If you can show those to me, then I’d be more than willing to look critically at their resumes.
That just isn’t true. Arkansas lost to an Oklahoma State team that is last in the Big 12. They struggled with a UAB team that is one of the worst in football. Kentucky has been throttled by teams like Auburn and Vandy. Surely you don’t think those two teams are on par with Oregon or Ohio State. Florida got dominated by Miami. You are delusional if you truly believe that just being in the SEC is enough to be a top tier team in any conference.Kentucky, Florida, Arkansas would all be upper tier big 10 and big 12 teams. So OP if we’re not a playoff team who is? The Bama team that our defense dominated? The Penn State team that doesn’t have a win against a top 40 team? The Texas team that got drug at home by the same team we just hung on the road with?? The OM team that lost to KY? We still have a better than 50% shot and could drastically improve that with some help from Army/ Oklahoma or Florida next week. Everyone calm down.
Pull up Sagarins power rankings they both compare favorably to the majority of both conferences. That just isn’t true. Arkansas lost to an Oklahoma State team that is last in the Big 12. So telling the truth is whining. Got it.
I don't disagree. I feel like they all get in with 1 or even 2 losses over us though. We don't have a strong argument to be in over any 1 loss teams. I think we end up 1st or 2nd out
Offense looked pretty damn good the 1st half, victim of bad calls at bad times and gr8 half time adjustment by the dawg defenseYou didn't read my post. Even if the committee lets us into the playoffs we aren't good enough to do any damage. We would lose immediately because we just don't belong yet. Our offense is terrible.
How many elite teams in other conferences have given up 63 at home this year? Zero. How many Big 12 teams have out performed Oklahoma State in every metric and lost? Zero. They really out performed them in every metric other than the scoreboard. If you want to project performance you are going to have to look at things past the score.
I never said they were great. I said they’d be in the upper tier of the other conferences. Mostly because the other conferences are terrible once you get past the top 3 teams. Most of the advanced metrics agree with me. You are stuck in the naïve way of thinking that believes a team is as good as its record says. Again check Sargarin or any other reputable power rating system. You won’t because you aren’t interested in having an intelligent conversation. How many elite teams in other conferences have given up 63 at home this year? Zero. This argument that some are trying to make of “well Florida and Arkansas and Kentucky are actually great, but Ole Miss actually sucks for losing to Kentucky and Texas actually sucks for losing to Georgia, but everyone in the SEC is way better than anyone in any other conference,” is circular and nonsensical. There is absolutely no evidence to say Arkansas would be elite in any conference. They lost to a last place team. You are just flat out wrong, and no amount of mental gymnastics will make you right.
Upper tier teams in any major conference aren’t giving up 60+ at home and losing to last placed teams. I don’t care what Sagarin says. Arkansas struggled with UAB, one of the worst teams in the country. Their only wins are against UAB, a bad Auburn team, a horrible Mississippi State team, Arkansas Pine Bluff, and us. They have lost to a Big 12 team that hasn’t won a conference game, and they have lost to every winning team they have played but us. They would not be an upper tier team in any power conference.I never said they were great. I said they’d be in the upper tier of the other conferences. Right because you know better than Sagarin and the people that do this for a living by setting oddsUpper tier teams in any major conference aren’t giving up 60+ at home and losing to last placed teams. If you truly believe that a team that gave up 63 at home, lost to Oklahoma State, and only led UAB by 3 points with 4 minutes left in the game would be upper tier in any major conference, don’t ever pretend to be interested in intelligent conversation again.
Tennessee just isn't a playoff caliber team. Even if they won out and the committee let them into the playoffs, they won't go anywhere. Nico just isn't there yet and neither are the receivers. They can't make the plays that matter enough times. This was a totally beatable Georgia team and if you asked me at the beginning of the year I would have called this a 100% loss but I had hope they could actually win.
The defense got beat in the passing game but we lost this game because the offense didn't execute or score any points in the second half.
Hopefully 2025 Nico will finally be prime time. I just hope that we get more that one year of elite Nico before he bolts for the NFL. We don't need or want to be a QB development school. We need guys ready to play elite day 1.
Tonight is the saddest I've been in a while. I thought they would actually do it tonight and break the cycle of violence.
