Ask Doozer about motorsports thread

Looks like a Le Mans only development.

Brendon Hartley, Lord of the Dings. I can't tell who's in the blue. Good to see Brendon's cut his hair.

Actually now that I think about it is that John Martin? When was that picture taken?

Thoughts on the up coming Eldora truck race? In favor or opposed to NASCAR adding dirt tracks?

I should preface that I will be watching the truck race at Eldora, but I would not put much stock into it. I believe it will be a one time deal. The chassis they run are not really built for dirt, or at least ideal for racing on dirt. I believe the only modification NASCAR is allowing is the removal of the front splitter.

If you enjoy watching destruction, this will be for you. I have a feeling there will be a ton of wrecks. I just do not see them being exciting as super late models, or any purpose built dirt car, at Eldora. Now, with more freedom to change the rear of the car from truck arms to a four bar setup, they might be on to something, but it would not be very cost effective for NASCAR to allow this for a once a year event.

Robby Moore. I used to know a Robby Moore from Maryville.

What tires will they be using?

Yeah, I know that guy. He is a real jerk. :) They will be using Goodyear's of course. Which is good news because their dirt based tires are just as crappy as their asphalt tires, but that is an entirely different debate.

Well good to hear from you Robby, glad to see after two years of being a member here, you finally decided to post.

So, are Hoosier the ones you want for ovals?

My European friends froth over the WEC. I don't care about endurance racing outside of like 3 events.

I'm doing okay, aren't I?

I love endurance racing to be honest. I like the fact that it is truly a team sport, you screw up as a driver in your stint and you doom the entire team.

Is HAAS F1 "American" enough for you? Chassis built by dallara, engine from Ferrari and 70% of the staff is non American.

Many Europeans are mocking this team. I think they a bunch of hypocrites as they listen to the Austrian anthem when RBR wins.

Yes.

They are owned by an American and list their headquarters in the USA. I don't have a problem with having a European location for turning cars around either.

Is Honda not Japanese because they can make them here? Volkswagen? Are all of the Big 3 designed, engineered and assembled 100% in the USA by only Americans?

Seems petty to me, maybe because Haas hit the ground running and they feel threatened? I don't know.

Best trackside libation?

I'm all in with cold beer. Particularly stuff that goes down easy and refreshes.
