At this point…..

WRs got open and made some tough catches tonight, including the deep ball that was ruled incomplete because CB came down out of bounds. That’s encouraging. At some point we may need to give CB and DT some jump ball opportunities. I like their chances!

Nimrod dropped at least 3

If Nico is gonna be a game manager then take half of his big NIL deal and give it to Sampson. He deserves it. I am still hopeful that Heupel gets a new OL coach.

Need to focus on short passes, dumping it off, and rolling out. Heupel’s offenses spread defenses out so there will be guys in traffic out in the flat, but his normal scheme just is not working and it is time to adjust.
In fairness, I actually saw some of that in the game, for the first time this season. Nico couldn't get it done. They were open, he and the OL couldn't execute.

Maybe. He’s close. The Brazzell jump ball, the Nimrod throw over the middle. Hit either of those and the game is over in regulation. Overthrew the slant on 3rd that lead to the FG. Overthrew 2 TD passes on the same drive early in the game.

I’m a firm believer that things regress to the mean. So I’m expecting a much better game for Nico next week.
Man I hope so. Which means the OL will have a good day too. They turibble

The rise of Brazzell this game was a massive positive for this team. He’s going to be off the charts great.

Nico was not good tonight, which unfortunately has been a theme the past couple of games. You just gotta hope something clicks
It will. Some just take a little bit longer for it to happen. The game is moving really fast for Nico right now. Hopefully with more experience it will slow down for him. The kid at Clemson and Milrow at Bama are both good examples of this. This is a tough league for young qbs.

Just keep doing what we’re doing and let’s make Nico a game managing QB. Let’s ride with our stable of RB’s and our great defense for the rest of the year. Putting too much on Nico just isn’t working.
Idk what the answer is. Maybe simplify the offense and give him an option or two then throw away or run. I do think someone needs to emphasize a throw away now and then is okay.

Yep, it just seems to me that’s where we’re headed. Nico needs to worry about taking care of the ball and let the RB’s and defense feast.
