Lance Heard and John Campbell need to be benched. They aren’t helping anything. Not tough enough for SEC or don’t care, or both.
Lol. John Campbell would fold you like a cheap lawn chair kid. He’s not healthy. You’re right he shouldn’t be playing probably. Don’t doubt the guy’s toughness though.

He definitely has shown the potential to be a great QB but I don't think he's gonna find it this year.
I agree he needs more time and has definitely shown flashes. His accuracy has dropped. I wish Heupel had a bit of Spurrier in him and would be willing to bring the next guy in. Just because Nico gets pulled for a Qtr or series or whatever doesn’t mean he’s done. If the offense isn’t clicking after two quarters then it’s time to make a move if you need to. Arkansas and last night were both those situations. Quit coddling these kids.

That's the rub tho. There's no one behind them that's capable of playing well enough to bench them it appears. A lot of Nico's trouble, IMO, is that he's getting very little help from his OL..specifically the tackles. At this point in his career, that's on Heupel. Heupel won early at UCF with Frost's recruits but tailed off over the next couple of seasons as they filtered out. He benefited greatly by hitting the mother load with Pruitt recruits that led to '22. Now he's going to have to operate with his recruits and the staff he's put together. He chose to stick with Elarbee so he's going to have to work with the results of that decision. This is year 4. We should have better options on the OL IMO. I'll be very interested to see how this season winds up for Heupel. I felt this was an 8 win team, but now I'm not so sure. I can very easily see a 6-6 or 7-5 outcome based on the schedule. Again, Heupel made the call on Elarbee so he has to own it.

We. Don’t. Have. Elite. Recievers.
A couple have shown flashes but lack consistency. Elite receivers consistently create space, I'm not seeing that. Is it the receivers, the offense or maybe both?

What I am seeing is slow developing pass plays that the OL is not capable of providing protection for.

Teams now know all they have to do is choke the run and it's a winnable game.

Even a veteran player will have issues with a weak OL in front of him. Just look at yesterday's highlights. Many cases of pressure forcing a bad throw by a QB. Nico is certainly struggling and isn't blameless, but had he been behind an adequate OL, who knows what he might look like right now. The difference between Nico vs Iowa and the Nico we've seen in SEC play so far is stark. Going to beat that dead horse again, but a huge part of it is the lack of protection. The OL is a major weakness and that's on Elarbee and Heupel.

This in a nutshell.

Just keep doing what we’re doing and let’s make Nico a game managing QB. Let’s ride with our stable of RB’s and our great defense for the rest of the year. Putting too much on Nico just isn’t working.
Other than a few broken plays late our run game was non existent yesterday. This offense is in a funk bad. Idk if it play calling or just the speed of the game for Nico but he hasn’t looked right at all. Plus all the dropped passes here of late is like our WR’s are eating popcorn on the sidelines. I know Nico has overthrown the ball a couple of times but he hit Nimrod in the hands more than once and he couldn’t catch a cold. The offense the last 2 years have looked awful and the only thing I k own has changed is the OC so it may be time for him to go. This isn’t the fast paced offense we ran a couple of years ago.

Can someone help me understand how the offensive line is bad? Campbell was great last year right, Mays and Spraggins have been good for years and likely play on Sundays… Is it Karic and the LT spot?

So Nico sucks now after hearing all last season how he should have started...too many fan want perfection....

Literally no one, is asking for "perfection" from Nico.

Stop standing up a straw man argument to try to excuse away well-below-average QB play.

At this point I will be happy with a win against Bama after beating Florida. I will be more than content going 9-3 and losing to UGA and State. Nico is just not who I thought he was going to be. Can’t lose to UK or Vandy though

I agree, bring in the relief pitcher for a series or two. Only problem with doing that in today’s game is that the kid will transfer out for something like that.

We’re not losing to Ms State. Heupel will have this figured out by then, which is running the football, playing great d and Nico minimizing mistakes. And ffs, start Dayne Davis on the OL over Heard or Campbell.

An 8 million dollar (reportedly) game manager?
Seems off, somehow? 🤔

If he's going to be a game manager then he will have to run the ball once in a while.

I think we saw a lot more of him running the ball Saturday night.

2 big runs called back because of holding really hurt.

Nico will not be a game manager.

Our offensive line has to get a lot better.

I don’t think Heard is the answer at tackle. We will need to hit the portal hard for some help at tackle.
