At what point do we get credit for a "quality win"?

I was listening to the Sports Animal earlier and they had a guy on there saying that Bama wasn't a quality win for us and we really need to beat Georgia in Athens. Bama was literally favored to beat us and we won and now all of a sudden it isn't a quality win. People who say the media hates Tennessee aren't looking so crazy now.

Yeah, it’s been frustrating to hear that the narrative is how bad the Alabama offense was versus how well our defense played last night (and all season long). Oh well, all we can do is play who we play, take care of business, and let the rest sort itself out.

As far as I’m concerned, we have 6 quality wins.

First NC State was good, then they weren't. Then OU was good, then they weren't, Now Bama is not good? What a crock of Sh^t. Media are in for the clicks, that is how they get paid. The more controversial they are the better they get paid, Look at Stephen A, he has made a living off saying crazy stuff.

The media didn't make NC State lose to Wake or Okla get blown out by SC. Just because those teams aren't as good as advertised doesn't me we aren't good. I think they have us ranked about right.

It’s just the way it is. If Bama wins out, then it will look like a quality win. If they don’t, then our only hope is for us to beat UGA. Most of us thought at the beginning of the year that NCST would be their usual 8-9 win self and be ranked. We thought OU would be a signature win in Norman. Both teams are horrible.

Now there is an outside shot of something. What if UF, catches a little fire and wins more than they are supposed to? What if they knock off TX or LSU? The UF win MIGHT end up being a quality win.

It makes no sense. Bama fans also complaining about how bad their offense played. They don’t even stop to consider that the reason their offense played so poorly was because of the Tennessee defense. Its elite. One of the best in the country.

The same people blabbing about quality wins are the same ones that tell you that Notre Dame, USC, and Texas are the teams that are locks for playoff spots in week 1, and btw SEC you’ve been warned 😂

I think we’d be hearing less about this if our wins looked “prettier”. If our offense was cranking it would be more about how good we are, and think winning ugly doesn’t get us style points. Crazy thing happening…we are playing all these “not so great” teams on our way to 6-1, while other teams schedules don’t look so different.

most also fail to recognize that if Nico didn’t miss or WR drop quite a few passes, the game isn’t close

I keep saying the wins are ugly on the offense side. I keep hearing a win is a win and sit down. Just keep winning and don’t care if someone calls the quality, ugly, or whatever.

People are goin to doubt our team with the way the offense has played at times. I don't fault them. At the same time, I think our team is improving offensively as Nico grows more comfortable and opens himself as a runner.

We are winning and positioning ourselves for a spot in the playoffs. As long as that happens, all that matters is the team we become by that time. To copy a saying in collehe basketball, you don't want to peak to early. You want to catch fire and hit your stride entering the postseason. That's what matters in this new format. Be the best version of yourself come the playoffs. Keep improving and tweaking your approach until then.

The offense has plenty of talent and is just a few tweaks away from really clicking. The plays are there - we just have to start hitting them. The only glaring weakness we need to scheme around is the offensive line. I hope the second half of Bama was a mental turning point for these guys.

That is life in Negavolville. Who did Texas beat? A bad Michigan & OU. Who has Clemson beat? NCSt, Wake, FSU?
Clemson has beaten one team that has a winnng record, one with a .500 record, and the rest have losing records. They got blown off the field by Georgia. And their fans are whining because they didn’t move and got jumped by the Vols.
Logic escapes them

You are correct, and winning close games builds character and confidence, even when against an inferior opponent........LIKE BAMA!

Heupel and Banks seem to be exposing our opponents’ weaknesses. Everyone we beat has fallen apart afterwards.
