There is no way SC is the number 3 team in the country.

Oklahoma is the best example of a 1 trick pony...their RB petersen....without him their a 7-4 team anywhere you go. Bomar is some hyped up spectacle of Nebraskas' Frost...I don't see it.

They are better at 3 than Oklahoma at 1 IMO :birgits_giggle:
I don't disagree. As I've stated before, OU is a year away.

True, opening with a wildly overhyped opponent does present opportunities.

In all my years of following the Vols, the Cal game is probably the biggest game UT will have played since, well, since Majors had the rug pulled out from underneath him.

I think a game for the National Championship is pretty important.

I think it's about as big as . . . the opener last year against UAB.

I think the Cal game for us is huge. After what happened last year, we really need to start the season of a good step and beat a top 10 team.

By the way, Athlon has Tennessee at 20 :dunno:

We'll get a shot at a real top 10 team on September 16. Cal is a complete and utter fraud.

I tend to agree, but when we play them, they will be a top 10 team, so atleast it would look better for us then if we win :D

It's a big game, but I don't see how it is in any way some sort of make or break game.
