Yeah, you're worse off. I've never seriously entertained any idea that the Hawks could make a serious run. I just hoped that they might finally beat the Celtics this year. And that Joe would show anything to indicate that his contract might only be really bad instead of completely horrific.

Just was a terrible contract by the Hawks. He got paid more than Bosh, LeBron, Wade, Melo, Stoudemire, and Chris Paul.

The fear by ownership was, if they didn't lock him up with a max contract, whoever lost out on the LeBron/Wade/whoever else was up that year sweepstakes would sign Johnosn as the booby prize. And that attendance would tank. They knew they were overpaying, but they did it anyway.

He's a good player. But he's a no-show in the playoffs. You can't build your team around a guy who disappears in May.

If you don't trust them to draft anybody then I'm not sure how you trust them to look into another organization's minor leagues and find any value there either.

Signability. We draft based on signability and taking at or below slot. Not talent. When looking in other minor league systems to find talent..we pay the same salary everyone else in the minors gets.
