Big win tonight.

When I saw Beltran's line I thought this may have been a Cards win.

Uggla got such a 'dont throw dan uggla that pitch' pitch and just caruuuushed it.

Believe it or not but uggla's defense in extra innings was much more impactful than his offense. Great defense all around for the braves tonight.

I've had to follow the last several games on Gameday, so its been tough to tell, but has Venters been struggling?

I mean, a little. But he hasn't been bad. Last night, 95% of MLB players let that fastball go, and Beltran just guessed right and crushed it.

It was a good game for the most part. There was a lot of energy in the park. Great defense in extras. Bases loaded twice in extra innings and 0 runs. Can't win like that against a good team. Good win for the Braves.

5-2 on the road trip. Last night's win guaranteed a winning road trip.

Beachy going tonight. Hopefully he can get locked in and the Braves can take the series even before Sunday.

The upcoming home stand next week is about the most bizarre scheduling I have seen. Back-to-back two-game series and then back on the road again.

The pitch that Beltran hit for a HR off of Venters was up but it was sailing up and away from Beltran at 95+ mph. It was not an easy pitch to handle and he made it look easy.

A couple Jason Heywards stats (albeit early).

Jason is slugging .491...100 points up from last year.

His ISO Power was .226...up 64 points from last year.

His walk percentage is 12.9...up 1.7% higher than last year.

His BABIP is at .311, which means he's neither lucky or unlucky.

His wRC+ is 143...up 45 points from last year.

Really like what I'm seeing from Jason. And I think he'll get even better this year.

And he hit an opposite field homer in Busch off a power pitcher. That's no joke. I'd say he's physically healthy.

He has four opposite field hits this week. Huge help. He got pull happy last year, as Joe repeatedly said.

He looks A LOT better. He's also hitting the ball significantly harder than even in 2010.

It's early, but we also need to realize that he's adjusting to a new swing/approach. He'll be better by June. He's already been worth 1.5 wins this year.

I think .280/.400/.550 with a 25/25 season is completely feasible. Along with his stellar defense, that would be close to a 7.0 WAR season.

I certainly think he's a .400+ OBP guy. He has great power but he'll prolly never hit 40 HRs considering his approach at the plate. I just hope the braves back off and try not to turn him into a pure power hitter.

Good energy again here at the park. It's funny how you can tell when teams have respect for one another just by the feel of the pregame and game time atmosphere. So here's to another good game and hopefully Cards pull it out.

If he gives you 40 doubles/25 homers and 6-7 triples ever year, you take that without complaining.

He's not a 40 homer guy, which is fine with me. I'll take .290/.410/.560 (which I think he can be in his prime) along with his stellar D and great baserunning.

Anytime I see Adam Wainwright, I always think of one of the very few times a trade worked out for both teams.

Wainwright has been great with the Cards. Drew had his best year in Atlanta and helped lead the Braves to a division title.

See you guys about the fifth inning when the Caps are down three goals. No way a rookie goaltender with the distractions of becoming a 1st time dad two days ago wins in Madison Square Garden in Game 7. None.
