Y'all brought it to us tonight. The game wasn't as close as the score. Your bats were hot and ours were cold. Hopefully we can avoid a damned sweep.

First game was a toss up, but the second was a solid performance all around by the braves. Only negative for the braves was 13 LOB tonight.

That's why I said it wasn't as close as the score indicated.

The Braves have been that way this year. They are very feast or famine. I am not used to a Braves offense that can score like they have this year thus far. It's an adjustment to accept that pitching is weak, especially our starting pitching. But, Beachy has been exceptional and hopefully Hudson can get back into expected form -- last start seemed like he found his way a bit, but who knows.

I certainly do not expect them to keep scoring like this the rest of the year, but not complaining while they are racking up runs.

The pitching should be fine, especially if the Braves have the stones to challenge the starters by bringing up Teheran to replace whoever's failing. And sending Jurrjens down tells us they have the stones. We're only six weeks in; I'm pretty sure the starting pitching will work itself out. Not least because that's something Fredi has very little effect on.

I do worry that there's some smoke-and-mirroring going on with the offense, and that there'll be a be a big regression at some point that will have us shrieking about how they can't score anymore. All the individual hitters' stats do not quite add up to all the runs that they're scoring. Example: you guys do know that Heyward has a higher OPS than Freeman, right?

I hope the pitching settles because I am with you on the offense. I think it will come back down to earth at some point. If there pitching is still not there, it will get ugly quickly.

But, at the same time I have hope in the offense given like tonight they were on base all night long. It was not dependent upon 3-run HRs or the like. It was just relentless base runners in which they were able to plate seven runs tonight without a bulk of huge power shots. It was all singles and walks for the most part. Only two extra-base hits in a late solo HR by Bourn and a double by Uggla -- 11 singles & seven BB over 184 pitches.

There we go Beach

Big fan of Beechy. Guy saves our BP every game he pitches in. Dude is the ace of this staff easily. J.J should be trade bait if he ever returns to decent form. Great win by the Braves. To win twi in a row after losing the last 12 straight in st Louis is great. Thought for sure we would lose this series. Yet another roller coaster ride with this team.

Thought you were a Braves fan. Oh well, atleast you are a fan of a classy organization. Screw tha cubs

Didn't others say they wouldn't keep scoring like this a month ago? It will keep happening. I'm worried about the 4,5 pitching spots come late September. Also very concerned Durbin might hang around until late September. Dudes an ass clown and will cost this club many games in the future if he stays up in the show

It will keep up Verci. No matter the negative spin you think of, fact is they ARE that good offensively

That's something that's always in the back of your mind, but I don't worry about it quite as much since its not like there's HR binge going on or a couple of guys insanely hot. It's mainly been all 8 guys in the lineup being productive. If anything, Mac and Prado have been lackluster.

If Freddie and Jason (lol) continue to provide power, we will shall be fine. Hell, Mac hasn't even hit yet.

How many times is that going to happen to him? That's 3 or 4 SBs already that he's had taken away by umpires.

Ridiculous to say the least. Just idiotic dumbasses.

We need replay. Was Prado moving on that play also? That is potentially two-three runs taken away right there.

It was close but I think he got in. But it's quite a leap to assume there would have been 2-3 runs.
That would be like me saying the called 3rd strike on Beltran and Craig cost us 2-3 runs. Close calls are baseball.

And I totally disagree with more replay in MLB. I think it's about right how it is. Slowing the game down more would not be a good thing.
