What’s your point and how does it relate to the post quoted? None of the above should be in the hall either.

Convenient that you state none of the listed should be in the hall since it goes against your only argument against Andruw. Keep in mind Griffey's slash is not all that much better than Andruw's. But he's in for his HRs during the PED era, not for his slash line.

Mazeroski and Smith are arguable. I don't see how the others are. Killebrew and Jackson probably retired top 5 or so in all time HRs and the others were seen as all time greats at their positions.

That's quite amazing.

And those first two batting lines are... pretty different.

Compared to what is above and below Griffey the difference doesn't automatically eliminate Andruw based purely on stat line. Brooks Robinson was in 18 ASG not so much for his bat, but more for his glove... where his bat was definitely not a liability. Sound like someone else? Ozzie Smith, 15 ASGs, and his bat was not... wonderful

So if you want to make the HOF purely based on offense then stop talking about five tool players because 2.5 of the tools are defense.

I thought the whole point was that someone wasn’t supposed to be just great on offense or just great defense but to be hall worthy you needed to be at least really good at both. You might be able to point to certain guys who have made it in that defy that logic but that means mistakes were made in the past, not that those should stand as examples as to why more guys who were one sided should continue to get in.

Seems like the steroid era has caused so many players to be black balled that the quality of player that is getting in has been lowered.

Jim Thome isn’t a HOF guy in my book. Wasn’t he a DH for a big part of his career? Hoffman....meh. Vlad...😐.

this is embarrassing

Thank you, this sums up where I am perfectly.

I don’t know man. Seems like he was a very good player. Just feels like this class there’s one guy who is a sure thing no brainer.

I just looked him up and I guess looking at his numbers he probably is. Just feels like the class is weak and the next one will be weaker.

Not advocating for juicers to get in. It’s just left a hole in the elections. We are gonna fill the gap with weaker players. I think Andruw will have a shot because they are gonna have to put somebody in.

Vlady is very worthy. There literally was not a pitch he couldn’t park. Unfortunately he played a large chunk of his career in Montreal, so he was tucked away. You couldn’t pitch around him. And one of the best outfield arms in the last 30 years.

What’s most amazing to me about Vlady is that even with his super aggressive approach to the plate, he never struck out 100x in a season. Only averaged 61 SO a season.

Yeah I agree. I think my perception of him was skewed a little. He was in Montreal during the years I followed baseball closely. He was a sports center highlight often but I guess I didn’t realize he kept performing like he did.

Plus, he was on the west coast after Montreal. If he would’ve been a Yankee he would’ve been off the charts popular.

He was truley a marvel to watch at the plate. There wasn’t a pitch he wouldn’t try to park.
