The way I understood it, they'll still owe him around 60MM+ over 3 1/2 years. 5mm/yr is roughly the differential between what Kemp will get and what Olivera would've gotten

I don't see how this is not a great trade. We get rid of someone who likely wasn't ever going to see the field again as a brave. Pick up power hitting OF and not gonna be paying him much

Hart just said the starting outfield will be Markakis, Kemp, and Inciarte. So, they plan on making Mallex the 4th OF. That sucks big time. Hopefully, Markakis is traded

Kemp is not going to be a lifesaver for this team & I think we all know that. However, I'm so glad we got rid of Hector Olivera! He was a waste to start with. We screwed up bigtime on him just like we have with way too many others.
