Tyler Byrd will end up being the best WR of them all by the time he leaves UT. He is athletic, agile, fast, & dynamic. He will be taking over for Cam in the PR duties after next season. All I can see is look out!

Byrd against the current roster field for best WR career at UT, eh?

Probably 2nd string because he can absolutely lower the boom on other players. That's where I think he fits best too just like Flat Top said.

Yeah there's a chance he'd be in the two deep. Safeties would be looking really nice.

Obviously important as a WR, too, but yeah.

If he were switched there now, where do you think he'd fall on the depth chart?

He is so good, man. I think he would crack the 2-deep right now. He is like JRM was on special teams before JRM became JRM. I know, it means nothing, but he was fierce at safety in high school. Barton Simmons said he would've easily been a top 50 player in the nation at that position.

Hell, JJ could be the best receiver on the team right now. Very plausible, just with his unique athletic skill set, he needs more PT. He is a freak.

Yep. Basically a top 100 type guy at two positions, then much more highly touted as purely a safety. I remember Simmons saying that.

Kelly, Jennings
Gaulden, Berry

Abernathy and Warrior fighting for PT, gaulden perhaps playing some nickel. That's a lot of fun.

Exactly. That's why that has to be such a tough call for butch. Hard to just take him out of that WR depth... Cause he can do it all.. But if he isn't gonna be a factor due to a lackluster pass game, hard not to have him at safety.

At least we know he'll be fun on special teams regardless.

Beats Art Evans, P Swag, Teague, and Eric Gordon, no?

Gotta cut down on the WR rotation

Other than that, go play

We're gonna be good

I do agree with you but you know how Butch is in getting as many WR's on the field as possible. We are 6 deep at WR & you could even make it 7-8 deep. It's going to be hard to limit the WR's we allow on the field.

He is obviously going to do him. But let's not act like it's rocket surgery to let the better guys play more snaps than in the past.

I think Butch knows what he's got at WR. He knows the guys we need out there to make plays. That's about 5-6 WR's like I said. The other couple could be used for special/trick plays with Latrell Williams & Jeff George.

George should be a nightmare to cover in the red zone though with his height at 6'6". He will need to be used some in the red zone for sure.

He might be. If he's used, that seems like the fit. He's apparently pretty light, right? If that's the case, just split Croom out and let him work.

Watching Scott, Shoop, DeBord interviews now. From today. Pressed about JG, DeBord finally had to be like... 'i mean it's been two days...'
