Ugh... what manfred is realizing is the age group he is trying to reach isn't going to start watching baseball because the game is a little quicker. what he is doing is going to kill the game for the older crowd, and don't get me started on the stupid put a runner on 2nd extra inning rule

It's not going to happen, but I wish they would move Dickey to the pen as a long reliever and give Wisler/Blair a shot at the rotation.

I say yes to Wisler but no to Blair. Blair had his chance along with Wisler & Wisler pitched much better in the times he had starting than Blair. Blair has been a really big disappointment.

I like the intentional walk change. I always thought you could keep the "standing catcher / arm over chest" type signal, throw one pitch and send them on. This works too.

Funny thing about the intentional walk gimmick is that it saves maybe 45 seconds during a time of the game during which there is actual tension. Strategy to be discussed. Stuff going on. That's not when they need to shave seconds! Pace of play isn't a problem when there are runners in scoring position, it's most of the rest of the game when it takes 30 seconds in between pitches with nobody on.

Don't feel bad for someone that got caught obviously cheating, but I still think Freeze can coach x and O wise. It takes more that just talent (and a couple bands) to beat Bama like that. RIP tho.

Seems to me he could coach a bowling team to a championship. Seems to just have that coaching quality about him. Also seems to me that he is pretty slimy.

Celtics should be embarrassed

Disagree. I think standing idle was a chess move. There wasn't anyone on the market who could push them over the top. Sign George this offseason, keep all the picks, and gear up for a run. The usual suspects are going to keep dominating, everyone else is playing for fun. Going to take something special to crack in with the elites.

Looking back & thinking about it a little more I'm going to agree with you. I think we go after Hayward though instead of George in the offseason. We can do this with only giving up one pick plus a couple of current players like Rozier & Smart or Rozier & Crowder.

Ha I can see the resemblance. My man has got BACK TO BACK hat tricks. Annual reminder how the Caps got fleeced.

Thanks, in April I'll be sure to post my annual reminder that the reason the Caps' scouts made him available was that they thought he's too soft for the playoffs. Assuming Nashville gets in of course.

Thanks, so at worst (for us) you traded a perennial regular season all star 30-40 goal per year player for Martin Erat, who can't even scratch an NHL lineup.

At best for us, we traded Martin Erat for the best player in franchise history and a future Hall of Famer.

^ my mans has got a point

And he's consistent

Except no. His first ever Cup postseason he put up 4 goals and 2 helpers in 6 games. He had a rough postseason last year but at best its a wash.

Either way, there is no way in hell anyone can argue for that trade in any manner on the Capitals side.
