With catchers/pitchers reporting here's my guess at the 25 man

RF Markakis
SS Simmons
1B Freeman
3B C. Johnson
LF Almonte
CF Upton
2B Peterson
C Bethancourt

Bench
IF K. Johnson
IF A. Callapso
UT Gosselin
OF Gomes
C Pierzynski

Starters
Teheran
Wood
Miller
Minor
Rodriguez

Bullpen
Kimbrel
Grilli
Vizcaino
Johnson
Avilan
Russell
Outman

Atlanta could potentially be players in free agency next winter and contending again as soon as 2016. That's why they keep Kimbrel unless the Cubs called and offered Kris Bryant and Jorge Soler.

The Braves have $70 million already committed to only 8 players in 2016, and $84 million committed to the same 8 in 2017. I can't see any way they'll be in the bidding for any impact free agents.

Stults over Wandy

Veras over Avilan

EY makes it somehow IMO

Hope the young pitchers make for some tough decisions

Love the pitching. Is Markakis leading off?

The best closer in the game is a waste on a 70 win team. The best way to maximize that asset is to flip him for a great prospect. I'd definitely be looking to trade him but I'd sit on him until I got the value I was looking for. There's no rush.

(Until, of course, the first time he complained to the bullpen coach about soreness in his arm. And then you flip that MF before the sun goes down.)

You save him until very close to the trade deadline...THEN you trade him...for WAY more than ONE prospect.

I agree on waiting to maximize his value. But I care far more about the quality of the prospect than I do how many there are. I'd much rather get one great prospect than a package of guys with upside. I have no interest in the usual group of 1) AAA player who's "major league ready" but has no chance to be an all-star, 2 & 3) two arms in AA, and 4) a lottery ticket in rookie ball.

Don't have to wait til the deadline. Some teams realize the value-added of getting a guy before then, so maybe he gets moved earlier in the year if the year stinks from the start.

He's the type of player that draws a haul of players...agree there should be maximum quality...but teams will outbid each other...so you get more than one prospect.

He's out of this world, but he's still a reliever. Idk what a realistic expectation would be.

I wouldn't give up much for Kimbrel. Too many closers have fallen off the map to give up a star positional player for him. It would take a stupid team, and sadly, the dumb ones have already spent most of their TV money.

Dick Vitale, please tell us more about how tough John Calipari has it being forced to replace five NBA players with five new ones every year.
