The Braves started dicking around with Heyward halfway through his rookie season, with Cox publicly complaining (!) that Heyward needed to stop taking so many pitches. The Braves thought about Heyward what the Reds thread thinks about Joey Votto, and I'm sure they coached him accordingly. I don't have much doubt that a team that actually knows how to coach hitting will get his swing straightened out.
It's not an accident that the only great hitter that the Braves have had in the last thirty years ignored everyone in the organization, and instead called his dad on the phone for hitting advice.
Giving him 200 million before he actually puts it all together was not a good idea.... Risky both ways, but hopefully it plays out in our favor.. The Cards will make him play it out as well IMOYeah we all knew Mac was on the down swing plus that he was leaving. Jason leaving was out of nowhere, plus he's good and only 25, and it was the ****ing Cardinals.
Oh and instead of giving him a legitimate contract, we spent $19M on Chris Johnson and Nick Markakis.
So events have transpired to where I'm heading up to N. Va in just few minutes and staying in a hotel close to a Metro stop that could get me into the city in short order. Just so happens that the Warriors play the Wizards tonight at Verizon, albeit probably w/o Curry again. Given that a) I'm a fan of a west coast team that I've never even seen play in person and b) I have to be professional and on point for a client meeting tomorrow morning at 9:00, how much is too much to spend on a ticket?
