What are the chances the last basket Maryland made, that thudded in off the the backboard at roughly 50 MPH, was actually what she was trying to do?

I don't watch enough women's BB to have a valid opinion about her. I do know she's an impossible position. She not only has to follow a legend, but a legend who established incredibly high standards in a time when there was almost no significant competition.

Has this woman color commentator ever watched BB before. 11 second difference between the game and shot clock, in a three point game, and she's saying try for 15 seconds to get a steal, and then foul so you can get the ball back. WTH?

Why not? Like Verc, i don't know enough about her to know why not to like her. Do people expect another Pat Summitt or what?

She's also had the benefit of riding the recruiting coat tails of Summitt and the Tennessee name, of which she has done absolutely nothing.

It's not personal, I just honestly don't think she's a very good coach. And it won't be long before recruits stop viewing Tennessee as an elite school if she doesn't win something soon...at least get to a Final Four.

One takeaway for me from watching this game is that I had no idea the women's shot clock was only 30 seconds. What possible justification does that leave for the men's still being an interminable 35 seconds?

Agreed

Stifle offense of course. Thought you were in favor of that, no?

As far as I can tell, Holly's teams are pretty much a clone of Pat's. Good defense, tough rebounding, terrible offense. Pat's teams won when she had a Parker or Holdsclaw to carry the offense, but without a player like that we could never do much on offense. The uncomfortable truth (IMO) is that things probably wouldn't have been that much different if Pat hadn't had any problems and was still the coach. Holly's coaching the same way Pat did. And other than Candace Parker, this is the way it's been for almost 20 years.

JFC sportcenter kick to the balls. Braves made 8 straight NLCSs and won one WS. Thanks bobby

I'd say about 50 percent bad luck/"the postseason is a crapshoot (tm)", 25 percent flawed roster design [1], and 25 percent Bobby. Just to throw some numbers out of my arse.

[1] (much of which was Bobby too)
