A couple of really solid prospects, an OF and a pitcher. Both should contribute at some point IMO. Cam Maybin, decent player. But more importantly the Padres are eating all of Melvin (BJ) Upton's contract. We freed up millions upon millions. It was a good trade IMO. Hate to lose Killa Craig but the move made sense.

As I recall they had a trade done with the Pirates for Bonds at one point, but Jim Leyland got the Pirates' ownership to nix the deal. I don't remember ever hearing that the Braves were close to signing him as a FA.
