Wu and I are drinking. Z is probably recovering. Mrs Noch is ravishing her man. Scotty is slumbering. Anybody else throwing it down tonight?

Rose was a non speed slap hitter that wasn't good defensively. If he hadn't play so long I can't imagine he's a HOF

Not a cognac fan? I like it. Really smooth.

Cognac is sweet. It's like sipping on Grand Marnier. I recoil from the sugar.

I spent most of the night outside drinking a friend's high-end Ardbeg. Which is the opposite of cognac, in that it's like licking a fireplace. And oh my God it was amazing.

He was awesome. The "every man's" player. It's hard to not view him in a negative light after the gambling stuff though.

I wish they'd let him in the hall. You know they'll do it 5 years after he dies. Do it when he'll be around to enjoy it. Jmo.

No offense but what exactly is an every mans player? I mean he'd been retire five years when I was born so I'm not gonna pretend I saw him play but it seems the Charlie Hustle memories overrate him. I can't imagine he hustled more than anyone ever. I appreciate hustle but he wasn't any better than Tim Raines. His career OPS+ during his prime was 133. Not exactly great.

He was an empty average hitter back when they thought batting average was all there is. He was useless defensively. He spent several years as manager writing his own name into the lineup every day in an effort to break Ty Cobb's record, even though at that point he was one of the worst players in the National League. Plus he's a shlthead.

Rose has two elite offensive seasons with an OPS+ of 150 in an elite lineup in baseball history. Just not seeing it.,

I saw them both. Tim Raines was way better.
