Lol since that was my birth year, no.

Well then perhaps you'd be interested to know that when the Braves went worst to first in 1991, they had three great young pitchers, and Hall of Famers Tom Glavine and John Smoltz were #2 and #3. At the time, Steve Avery was #1. I'm gonna be touchy about that forever because it was such an obvious waste. Even in 1991 it was pretty clear that 21 year olds didn't need to throw 120 pitches.

Hmm, I need to read up on him and educate myself. But you're right, 120 is way too much. Especially on a regular basis.

Steve Avery was good, but no way he was #1. That was clearly Glavine until '93 when Maddux arrived.

I would tend to agree. Looking back, Avery's K-rate was pedestrian and his WHIP wasn't great either in his best seasons, but he certainly had the potential for greatness. You can't pitch much better than he did against Pittsburgh.

16 1/3 shutout innings, 9 hits, 4 walks, 17 strikeouts and got the win in two 1-0 games in Pittsburgh.

Plus, he was in a Sports Illustrated article sitting in a Bronco with an original Super Soaker water gun, so you know he was a boss.

Oh yeah, and I've got this weird jewelry thing on my finger. Fsck yeah!!!!

Best of luck to you and your new bride. Here's to many more ups than downs.

Braxton Davidson has an interesting stat line. Not making contact at all, but he's still walking a ton, so it doesn't appear that he's overwhelmed with Single A.

I think his issue has always been that he is too passive.
