Heh, if you'd done nothing but bet against Ovechkin's team in the playoffs, you could have made a lot of money. He's probably the best pure goal scorer in the world, but even that's worth surprisingly little in the playoffs. Opposing teams can usually clamp down on each other's top lines enough that most series get decided by the goalies, defensemen, and the third and fourth lines. The Caps have never been deep enough to roll four decent lines out there, so they always go home early. Even with Ovechkin.

But he is the type of player that can definitely effect the outcome of a game. Plus the Islanders are depleted right now. If the caps can pressure and Ovechkin gets some openings, the Caps should win.

The Islanders are little and the Caps are big, and while both teams have beaten the hell out of each other, the Islanders are down a couple defenseman because the Caps' forwards have destroyed them. I'm gonna be really bummed out if the Caps don't win the series, but because they're the Caps I assume they won't. Something like 8 out of the Caps' last 9 playoff series have gone to seven games so I assume this will be more of the same.

I lived up in DC for three years back in the early 90s, btw, and that's where I started watching hockey and so that's why I root for the Caps. It's like having a hobby where once a year every April some guy comes over to your house and spends two straight weeks kicking you in the balls.

Gotta be optimistic lol. That way if you win, you're on a high. If you lose, there's still game 7.

I really, really hope this season can upgrade to having a hard time chitting, and it finally comes out.

If anything I just want to beat Arkansas. I live in this god forsaken hell hole, with some of the most delusional Hog fans you've ever seen. Also, my roommate is one.
