Atlanta Braves Thread (Tim Hudson Edition)

I would like some these kids to have few AB's at this level going into next year. Isn't the plan to have Albies and Dansby on the opening day roster next year?

They don't really have any specific plans for trying to bring up both Albies & Swanson on the MLB roster together. They would like for it to work out that way but if that does happen Swanson would be making an adjustment to playing 2B in which he can certainly do so.

Albies would be our SS & not Swanson is what I understand from reading an article from the Braves website about this. I'll see if I can link that here. I'll search for it & post it later. Edit: I thought I had bookmarked that page/article but evidently I didn't. Now I can't find it.

It's been a while ago probably about 3-4 weeks back. I'll try Google but I may not have any luck there either. I went to the Braves website but it's been too far back to be in the latest news category. I know that's where I found it back then was under Latest News link from their website.

Edit: I found one but it's not the same article. The other one was way more detailed but this one explains a little how they expect to handle Albies & Swanson: Atlanta Braves promote top shortstop prospects: Dansby Swansons moves to Double-A Mississippi Braves, Ozzie Albies moves to Triple-A Gwinnett Braves | MiLB.com News | The Official Site of Minor League Baseball

You're right, but there's a way to get their feet wet without starting their arbitration clock too soon and/or losing a year of control; especially when you're on the way to losing 100 anyway. People have to understand that right now it's as much about the calendar as it is their readiness.

You're right, but there's a way to get their feet wet without burning up their rookie eligibility and losing a year of control; especially when you're on the way to losing 100 anyway. I'd have to look up the eligibility rule as far as when the clock starts, the "Super 2" date etc., but people have to understand that right now it's as much about the calendar as it is their readiness.

I do agree with you on that. That's why I said it would be around or after the All-Star break before either Albies or Swanson would be brought up to the MLB team. It can't happen now or even in the next month or so either due to what you're exactly talking about.

I don't know if I should laugh or cry

You're right, but at some point it's going to get so bad that you wonder whether the front office will be able to hold out. It's almost time to start selling tickets for the new park.

Season tickets on sale tomorrow lol!!
