Any of you guys have a Marco's pizza in your area? A new one is opening up near me that will deliver to my house, but I don't really know much about them.

We have one here, it's a mile from my house so i go there for lunch sometimes if im off work. Ours has a lunch buffet. It's pretty good.

There are many of us who didn't want Bruce back, but still want a coaching change.

That's where I am too. The guys who turn the BB forum into a grease fire are the Pearl-first guys. They're the ones who get hysterical about how Vol BB never was and never will be anything without Bruce.

Deep dish is pretty much the only way to go.

Once upon a time there was a place near here called "Chicago Pizza And Sports Arena" that sold spectacular deep dish pizza. They shut down, leaving me with no available deep dish pizza. I've spent the last 10 years on a fruitless quest to learn to make it myself. But in the last 3 months I've finally just about got the Lou Malnati's/Pizzeria Uno style just about down. Mrs Verc had to make me take a break from all the trial runs because she gained five pounds. That's the best style of pizza, for sure.

I've never had a lot of success making decent pizza at home. No idea what I've done wrong, but it's never remotely as good as just ordering one from a pizza place.

I've never had a true deep dish Chicago style "pie", i want to.

Making "regular" pizza is tough because home ovens are so different from commercial ovens. I've read on the pizza nerd forums about some guys who cut the locks off their ovens and jury-rig the electronics so they can cook pizzas on the self-cleaning cycle. I worked as a pizza cook all the way through high school and college and I've never had anything but middling success with NY/American style pizza at home. Chicago style is much different, though -- you cook it in a pan, you cook it at regular oven temperatures. It's not too hard to make deep dish pizza at home that tastes like something you'd get at a restaurant.

I probably wouldn't bother but it's the only way I can get good deep dish pizza without driving half an hour each way and spending $30.

It's delicious and I love to eat it, but it's not pizza. Deep dish is basically a pizza inspired casserole.
