I'm mildly surprised. I actually was hoping that police around the country would get their unions and FOP in front of this and push for changes on their own... as a sign that they are willing to change with the times. But instead, they are choosing to have a temper tantrum and only offer 2 choices, maintain status quo or we quit. I haven't heard of any major movement to look for middle ground... and there is plenty of middle ground available to cops.

itll be a sad sight. These officers will definitely be acquitted and these politicians will have to do with worse crime and shortage of officers. The normal atlantians will be the ones who suffer till they move out

I have never called for a board member on this site to be banned but some of the stuff you have been spouting on different threads the last couple of days in regards to police & law enforcement has been despicable and down right sickening to the men & women who leave their families everyday and put their life on the line for you & me without ever expecting a thank you.

Like all professions their are some bad apples that make people look bad but overall the vast majority of law enforcement officers are good people. The amount of disdain you have shown law enforcement is down right scary.

This is sad, and bad, all the way around. There is no good side to this, no positive outlook, no chance of meaningful change or mutual respect or understanding, and there won't be any winners here. The battle lines have been drawn, and there are ominous signs of an ugly storm on the horizon.

Looks like now the pendulum is swinging too far in the opposite direction, now.

Looks like it is time for reason and pragmatism. We can't have full blown authoritarian and untouchable cops nor can you have anarchy. Seems like there is room for a middle ground, but the cops are choosing to either quit or maintain the status quo.

This is constant with the US to me. Wildly over corrections on the pendulum. Something goes wrong and then we do a damn 180 in the other direction.
