Attendance

You idiots. Attendance is down everywhere. Bammer is having trouble with ticket sales for crying out loud.

Price of tickets also are huge problem. I don't want to spend a large sum of money for Western Kentucky. I'm betting a lot of people felt the same.

we are in a state with a little over 4 million people. we are bringing in as many people as highly ranked teams with a much larger population in their state. That is something to be proud of.

What decade are you living in? Wikipedia is your friend when you need help. The state population now, based on the last 2010 census and estimated growth since then is about 6.5 million. Wikipedia, friend, Wikipedia!

I was really disappointed on how it looked on tv. Hopefully it will be packed for ugh regardless results the next two weeks

Variety of factors:

1. Fans have a justifiable "show-me" attitude. We've been burnt too many times before. Give fans something tangible on the field to be excited about, it'll start getting packed again.
2. Ticket prices and economy. I can swing it going by myself, but try paying for you, a wife, and two kids. That's a weekend in the mountains kind of money.
3. It's Western Kentucky.
4. It's a pain in the rear to go to a game.

Sorry, meant to say upper deck. It was early in the game and was in front of the press box. I was thinking that was the student section.

in front of the press box? sorry bud but that's not the student section in the upper deck. The student section in the upper deck is around the curve.

I know it was HOT but dang some people need to suck it up and go support. Fans bring excitement which Gets the players pumped... I know winning will fix it but the fans need to get in there and get the energy back and that will in return help the players

Like people who don't go to the game but complain about attendance.

When it's on TV (I don't know about the Knoxville Area),people are going to stay home given the price of gas and ticket costs.
NOW, a bigger (SEC) opponent will bring a much bigger draw.

Tennesse is the 4th most populous state in the SEC behind TX, GA, and FL. And UT also drws from metro Atlanta so lack of people is not the problem. I wanted to go but wasn't willing to pay $45 per seat or $20 to sit in the sun in the visitors section. Would have been there if I could have found $10 seats. Its WKU after all.

TV plus the economic recession are killing attendance, even winning teams are struggling to sell out. Only way it will change imo is if games become a rare commodity by limiting TV broadcasting. It will never happen I guess.

It WAS very hot, even in our shaded seats. I can give some older fans a pass for staying home today.
