I was born and bred in east Tennessee and own two degrees from UTK. I'll damn well root for Tennessee. That's why I don't want a low character any where near it.

Then we lose then, and everyone deserves a second chance, look at some of the players on ut roster, given a second chance, and I am ok with that, I just want to win.

There was a guy in Tennessee media (don't remember who) who said that they should not fire Pruitt because this year the crop of coaching candidates is not good.

And I completely disagree with that. There are about 5 coaches out there off the top of my head who would be good hires.

Even if you struck out on Freeze, there are others.

College football has turned into the same trash as the NFL, NBA etc...a bunch of narristic, self centered, individuals, the fan base is barely better, we got what we wanted with the past 3 coaches and the fans turn on them on a dime, and don't give a damn who pays for it as long as it's not their money....great school spirit....awesome, really impressive.....pathetic.

Auburn is much better than UT at hiring coaches.
No way they would hire Freeze or even consider him as a coach.
South Carolina is going to hire a better coach than Freeze.

That is a 21 Million dollar buyout-just for him. Does not include other coaches. If they can afford it-why not us?, Put the 100 million in renovations on hold. I dont think they will do it.

They can not do it.
Those funds were solicited for stadium upgrades and earmarked as such. Upgrades have already been put on hold once. I doubt it would fly a second time.
To even consider using the funds elsewhere would piss off the money people, assure lawsuits from donors wanting their money back and hurt donations for a hundred years.
Going forward it will get continually harder to get people to give money for coaching hires and buyouts. You can't blame them, they certainly have no return on their investments in UT football.

I would love to have Malzahn. He ticks multiple boxes on my list.

1) He's proven HC, that has won big in the SEC.
2) He recruits well.
3) He's an offensive minded coach.

In most every way possible he'd be far superior to any coach we've had in recent memory. Sometimes a change of scenery is all it takes to spark something special. If we can't be in the Freeze sweepstakes, Gus would be a dandy consolation prize.
